Hi,
I'm Linda Chow and welcome to this 10-minute Awaken with Gratitude meditation.
We face circumstances and obstacles where everything seems out of our control.
Gratitude is an amazing tool to ground us into what's important and realign our mentality towards faith and trust in ourselves.
So in today's meditation,
We'll focus on cultivating gratitude for ourselves just as we are.
So set yourself up in a comfortable position.
Elevate your seat high enough to feel rooted in your legs and tall through your spine.
Whenever you're ready,
Close your eyes if that feels comfortable.
Otherwise,
Gaze softly downward towards the tip of your nose and let's get started.
Take a full breath in and exhale out.
Begin to turn your awareness inward.
Let yourself land inside the safety of your own container,
Your own body,
Your home that you are with for life.
Begin to notice how you feel inside today.
Can you greet yourself without judgment?
Know that whatever you feel and however you find,
It's all okay.
At any given moment,
There are so many things going on within each one of us and there are so many different ways that we can choose to view ourselves and the situation we're in.
It's so easy to focus on what we don't have,
What we are not,
To compare.
But each of us is incredibly special and unique in our own way.
And if we allow ourselves to only focus on what we don't have,
Sometimes we miss our own gift and the world misses out on them too.
Without pushing anything away or pretending things are the way they are not,
We can choose to focus on our awareness and gratitude for all that we have,
All that we are.
Bring to mind an image of yourself sitting before you just as you're sitting.
Breathing just as you're breathing.
Notice what arises without judgment.
If you do find judgment creeping in to your inner monologue or any tension arising within yourselves,
Simply send your breath around those thoughts,
Around those feelings.
Let yourself soften and drop into the place within you that is compassionate,
That is loving,
That is filled with gratitude.
As you gaze upon yourself in your mind's eye,
Silently say thank you to yourself,
To all that you are.
Recognize that our fears sometimes block us from seeing all that we have.
Say thank you to yourself for all of your unique gifts.
Say thank you to your body for all that it does for you,
For being your home for life.
Say thank you to your mind for all of your unique thoughts and dreams.
Say thank you to your heart for your capacity to love yourself and others.
You are not your circumstances.
Everything is temporary.
The things that sometimes we find uncomfortable are temporary.
Just remember what you have.
There will always be ebbs and flows to life,
Times of positivity and peace,
Times of intensity.
But remember what you are grateful for.
And notice how you feel to settle on gratitude for all that you are exactly as you are.
Honoring all the unique gift that makes you who you are.
Stay connected with this gratitude that you open up within your body.
Begin to sense yourself in a space around you.
As you're ready,
Slowly open your eyes and re-enter the world.
Thank you so much for meditating with me and take care.
Until next time.
