Whether your difficulty is physical, emotional, mental or weary all over, there are ways to manage it that are more effective than others. Most of us have learned to deal with difficulty by not facing it in some way, ignoring it or distracting ourselves. This tends to store it up for later, like emotional outbursts we can't explain. In this meditation we acknowledge our pain with kindness, knowing that while that is difficult it is really easier than not, and much more fruitful. We feel the pain and then decide to face the dawn once more. You have my respect for even attempting it, because it takes courage and we rid the world of suffering, one pain at a time. Namaste. Let's find that comfortable place for our body,

Somewhere we can be still.

We're having a little fidget now to find a spot we can park our body.

When we get there,

Taking a few deeper breaths.

Stress might hunch us over or contract our belly and our chest.

So let's expand that area of the body.

Send those shoulder blades down the back and get a little bit taller.

Make a bit more space in our spine and our chest and our belly.

Shoulders softening and our arms resting somewhere.

We can relax our body.

So let's start at the crown and allow our forehead to soften,

Our scalp to soften.

Our cheeks and our jaw.

Shoulders releasing.

Chest and upper back falling into a neutral place.

Tall but not rigid.

Mid-back,

Stomach area relaxing and softening.

Belly,

Lower back.

A little bit alert,

A little bit relaxed.

Our hips,

Our legs,

All the way down to our feet,

Comfortable and still.

Notice how our body is affected by any drama we're experiencing.

And when I say that,

I mean mental,

Physical,

Emotional suffering of any kind really.

And decide to take a dignified position,

Physically relaxed,

Mentally alert.

And take a few breaths.

Bringing our attention away from the external world.

Bringing our attention inside.

Noticing our internal world.

Even if it's chaotic,

Painful,

Turbulent,

It seems we really must attend to it.

By that,

I mean feel it.

If we try and ignore it,

Hide from it,

Distract ourselves from it,

We're kind of storing it up for later.

So let's feel whatever is occurring for us now.

And in doing so,

It's much more likely to pass through us quickly.

So sitting in that dignified position,

Or lying if we're tired.

Greeting ourselves however we are now.

With kindness.

With kindness for the one who experiences the difficulties.

Can you allow whatever is happening to happen?

By which I do not mean what's occurring in the outside world is justified or right.

I mean that whatever our emotional,

Mental,

Physical state response is,

It's okay.

That's how it is.

That's not what we've been shown how to do on the whole.

Suffering of any kind,

Physical,

Mental and emotional,

Is all dealt with pretty much the same way.

By attending to it with kindness,

Acknowledging its presence.

Without making it wrong,

Pushing it away.

If your body hurts,

Your brain is full and in turmoil.

Or your emotional heart is in pain.

Your spirit is weary.

Be there.

We are so strong,

We are able to sit and hold those difficult feelings and experiences.

With love.

And that is so much easier in the shared energy of a group like this.

Even in a recording it's easier.

On your own it can feel very difficult,

Insurmountable.

But it isn't.

Because we are vast beings of light and love.

Yes,

Having difficult experiences.

But compared to our strength,

Those experiences are small.

Imagine holding them in your hands.

You can even do that physically if you wish.

Feel it.

Every little nuance.

Try not to fight it.

Allow the tears to flow if they come.

Take deeper breaths.

And know it will pass.

We can sit calmly.

Those deeper breaths will help our nervous system feel calmer.

More expansive.

We can hold whatever it is.

Whatever it is.

And after a while.

It might be a second,

A minute,

An hour or a day.

Depending.

We will be able to.

.

.

Well,

We just notice it isn't there so much anymore.

And we'll be able to choose again.

What should we choose?

I choose love.

Peace.

Joy.

Abundance.

Harmony.

Light.

Breathe it in.

Already it starts to flow into us.

Just with our intention to do so.

And because we're not here by ourselves,

We can get help with this.

We are not alone.

Our Earth is alive,

A living being.

The Universe is a living,

Conscious being.

Full of energy,

Waiting for us to call for help.

To draw it in,

To face the light again.

Breathe a light,

The prime of the love,

Into your heart space.

Let it start there.

A deeper breath to open your heart.

If your shoulders have slumped,

Send the shoulder blades down the back once more and open the chest.

Lengthen the spine.

Imagine the breath moving through your heart.

Easy,

Comfortable.

Feel the energy in your heart.

Don't think about it,

Feel it.

Maybe you're smiling already because you can feel the energy in your heart.

Allowing that light,

Which may have become very dim,

To start to glow a little brighter with each breath.

The light in our heart getting brighter,

Larger.

Imagine it happening,

Allow it to happen.

Let's connect with the Earth,

To draw on her strength and love.

Sending a beam of energy from our heart down through our central column into the Earth.

And if we wish,

We can use our fingertips to touch what we're sitting on.

Feeling the Earth beneath us,

In the shape of the floor,

The chair,

Whatever it is.

Energetically as well,

Sending our love to connect with the Earth like roots.

Finding her light.

Little roots coming up from the Earth to join ours,

And they connect.

Inviting her strength.

She is happy to do this for us.

She loves us.

We're going to connect with the cosmos,

With all that is,

In the same way.

From our heart,

Sending a column of light up,

Out through the top of our head,

Into all that is.

To the highest vibration we can conceive of.

Inviting that connection,

Imagining it so.

Inviting in that high vibration energy.

If you wish,

You can turn your palms up to symbolize receiving that energy.

Allow it to flow in through your central column to your heart.

All that is loves you,

Created you,

And is happy to share its energy with you.

And for a few moments,

Allowing your breath and your attention to flow up and down your central column.

To Earth,

To Source.

Easily.

Comfortably.

Imagine the energy meeting at your heart.

Your heart center is full of light,

Love,

And peace.

Full of prana,

Like a little sun.

It starts to overflow and fill your physical body.

Imagine it flowing around your body.

Whereas in our previous state,

All of our cells had been bathed in some degree of stress hormones,

Now our cells are bathed in love.

In our rest and digest hormones.

Feel that in your body.

Our rest and digest hormones feel like peace and safety.

Comfort.

Breathe it in.

Once our body is full of light,

It's flowing out into the field of energy around us.

So we sit in light,

Filled with light.

Take a few restful breaths.

Thanking the Earth.

Thanking Source.

And acknowledging our own ability to reset when we need to.

And so,

When we're ready,

Let's take an energizing breath or two.

Begin our journey back into the external world.

It's all still there,

But we are changed.

Facing forwards once again,

Choosing the light once again.

Send our shoulder blades down our back.

Lift our chest.

And start to move our body.

Fingers and toes.

Arms and legs.

When you're ready,

Having a look at the external world.

Thank you for practicing with me.
