Hi,
My name is Kimberly.
We're going to start by finding a comfortable place to sit.
Find a place where you're able to sit tall and upright,
Like a warrior at rest.
Once you are comfortable,
Close your eyes.
We often think of expectations as just thoughts,
But they do have a physical weight.
They are low,
Heavy,
Thick vibrations that move toward us like a slow-moving wall of fog or a massive dark wave.
In order to clear this weight,
We need precision.
In this practice,
We are not going to try to move every expectation at once.
We are going to pick the one right now that feels the heaviest.
Maybe it's a family member's vision for your life or someone else's vision for your job or career that isn't in line with where you see yourself.
Isolate that expectation.
See the expectation as a specific wave in front of you.
Or maybe you already feel that it's pressing against you.
It's trying to become your weight,
But you have a way to move it.
We aren't going to fight this wave.
We are going to redirect it with our breath.
Start by taking a deep,
Full breath in through your nose,
Filling your lungs to the point that feels comfortable.
Feel your own internal space expanding.
Hold it for just a second at the top,
Feeling your own strength.
Open your mouth and exhale.
Release a long,
Slow,
Steady stream of air.
Not a fast burst,
But a sustained,
Purposeful exhale.
Visualize that stream of air hitting that one specific wave of expectation.
Watch as your steady breath gently but firmly pushes that heavy vibration back.
You are using your own life force to clear your space.
Again,
Inhale deeply,
Drawing in your own truth.
Exhale long and steady.
See the weight of that one expectation being pushed further and further away from you.
Watch it move past your immediate field,
Out toward the horizon,
And finally see it dissolve into the ether.
It no longer has a target.
It no longer has a home in your body.
Repeat this for a few more breaths on your own.
Take one last inhale and exhale out with a big sigh.
When you're ready,
Gently open your eyes.
Before you move,
Take a moment to notice how you feel in your body.
Scan your head,
Your shoulders,
Your chest,
Your abdomen,
Your hips,
Your legs and feet.
Notice if you feel lighter anywhere in your body.
Notice that new space you've created.
This space is holding and protecting your reclaimed energy.
Practice this technique anytime you feel the heaviness of an expectation.
You may find that you may need to repeat this technique for the same expectation,
And that's okay.
The key is to be present while you are doing this technique and to notice how you feel before and after.
And work with just one expectation at a time.
Do not try to push two waves away at once,
Because to move a weight this heavy,
You need the full power of a single concentrated breath.
Remember,
You are the one who decides what stays in your field.
By clearing these external weights,
You aren't being selfish.
You are simply making room for your own truth to breathe.
When you move through the world without the pressure of others' expectations,
You move with a different kind of power.
You move as yourself.
Carry this lightness with you.
You have the shield,
And you have the breath.
You are always in control of your own space.
Thank you for practicing with me today.
Until next time,
Namaste.
