Welcome to Grounded with Wendy.
In today's talk and meditation,
I want to talk about the roads that we travel.
There are two roads that we can pick.
Well,
Truthfully,
There are multiple roads we can pick,
But for ease of conversation and for simply putting this idea into practice,
I want to talk about a paved road and how smooth and easy that is and how you know the direction that you're going.
Perhaps there are people who can repair the road if there are divots and it's very smooth and it's very easy and you know exactly where you're going.
And then there's a second road and the second road is unpaved.
It might need some work and effort and some clearing.
Maybe you actually don't know whether you're going north or west.
Maybe you aren't quite sure whether turning left or right is the one to move forward towards.
What do you feel when you hear those two roads?
What actually comes up for you when you think of ease and comfort versus some work,
Maybe a little bit of struggle and maybe a little bit of sweat?
What actually comes up for you?
And I'm offering these two ideas not to say one is right,
Not to say one is wrong.
That's kind of not helpful.
When we look at these two roads,
Sometimes we need to pick the one that's paved and easy and it's appropriate and it's right for our time in life.
And it's a necessity sometimes like to offer the idea that necessity of working through things by digging or scraping or searching by tapping into curiosity and exploration and something new might be an alternative you haven't tapped into lately.
Again,
I impress this idea that one is not right and one is not wrong.
Perhaps sitting with how one feels in a certain circumstance.
If I go this way,
How will it feel?
What would the results be?
If I turn towards this way,
How would it feel?
What would the results be like?
And so I invite you to just take a breath if you haven't been breathing and just sit with these ideas.
If you're so inclined to close your eyes and rest one hand on your heart and one on your belly and just say,
This is something I'm curious about.
And if I apply this idea to my choices in life,
How would that look?
How would that feel?
It's just,
It's an offering.
A potential to pause and to contemplate and to just sit in a moment of awareness.
I appreciate you and look forward to sharing more ideas together.
I'd love to hear your comments,
Your reflections,
How it resonated for you or didn't.
I'd love to have a conversation with you.
Thank you.
Be well.
