And for this short guided meditation we will read a passage from Thich Nhat Hanh's book How to Relax.
This is called the Resting Poem.
At any moment we can say this small poem to ourselves and take a mini rest.
This poem is like a tiny vacation except that it brings you back to your true home instead of taking you away from it.
It goes like this.
Breathing in,
I know I am breathing in.
Breathing out,
I know I am breathing out.
Breathing in,
I know I am breathing in.
Breathing out,
I know I am breathing out.
You can even shorten this poem.
It works just as well.
In,
Out.
I invite you throughout your day today to bring your awareness back to your breath and rest in a tiny vacation as you know that you are breathing in and breathing out.
