Sitting fully in the present moment is a precious gift that we can give ourselves.
I invite you to accept this gift along our journey today.
To begin,
Find a comfortable position,
Sitting or lying down.
You may choose to place your hands in your lap or at your sides.
Focus your gaze on one spot.
Take a deep breath in and out.
Take another deep breath.
When you are ready,
Close your eyes.
Notice the noises around you.
Notice all the things that you can hear.
Feel the comfortable spot where you are resting and feel how it is supporting you.
Feel the comfort of your clothes.
Just notice how comfortable you are.
Now slowly turn your attention inward.
Turn your attention in towards yourself and away from your surroundings.
Focus more clearly now.
Turn your attention to your breathing.
Remove your breaths and don't try to change anything.
Bring your attention deeply inward.
Notice how your core moves up and down with each breath you take.
Keep your attention completely on your core.
Notice how calm and soothing your breathing is.
Notice how tension is leaving your body.
Allow your muscles to relax and rest.
Feel your whole body become more relaxed.
Notice how tension is leaving your body.
Allow your muscles to relax and rest.
Feel your whole body become relaxed.
Now that you are feeling relaxed,
We will focus on welcoming joy.
Imagine yourself in a wide open field.
The ground is soft and you feel the cool grass beneath your toes.
The air is warm and comforting and it is a perfectly sunny day.
A little white puppy comes into view.
His name is Remy and he is a Maltese.
To his left,
A small dog with curly black hair appears.
This is his friend,
Jules,
A Cavapoo.
They will be your guides on your journey to calm and relaxation today.
Jules gently nudges you towards an area where you can sit on a very comfortable cushion so that you can be at the same level as the dogs.
But in this meditation,
You can sit or wander as much or as little as you like.
Remy comes over to you now.
His white hair is the softest that you have ever felt.
Remy is famous for his kisses and as you pick him up,
He kisses you on the cheek and wags his tail.
He is so happy to see you.
Jules barks to welcome all the dogs that you could possibly want to see to enter this wonderful place.
You feel joy,
Happiness,
And a deep sense of relaxation.
A litter of Golden Retriever puppies come at once to play with you.
They each have their own personality and are perfect in their own way,
Just like us.
The puppies are playing and falling over each other.
You throw a toy and it is chaos for them to find it.
Their silliness makes you laugh.
This experience is making you feel like a child and this is good.
You are letting your inner child have fun and this inner child exists in you all of the time.
Your favorite type of breed is now coming to visit you.
Maybe it is a German Shepherd,
A Beagle,
A Pug,
A Poodle or a mixture of different breeds.
This dog is so happy to see you.
It is wagging its tail and it sits on your lap and rests on you for comfort.
This is a good reminder for us to always take the time we need to rest,
Relax,
And seek comfort.
Like this dog showing unconditional love to you,
It is important to show unconditional love to yourself.
This field of dogs is a special one.
Anything is possible.
Now we will welcome in any angels we like.
Maybe this is a furry friend that has passed.
Or maybe it is an animal lover that we know would love to enjoy this joyous experience with us.
Welcome them into this place.
A rainbow appears in the sky and so do they soon after.
When you reach each other,
Wrap your arms around them and feel the warmth and unconditional love of this hug.
Sit in this place with them as long as you would like and ask them to continue to be with you in spirit and provide an insulation of protective love and presence.
Ask that they continue to join you with their presence on joyous moments in your life.
Just like this one.
Take a deep breath.
Now take a few moments to simply relax.
Absorb the joy that you have felt and remember that you can come back to this feeling.
Remember that your inner child can always come out to play and you can feel comfort when you welcome angels to accompany you on your journey.
You can stay here as long as you wish.
If you would like to fall asleep,
Gently doze off now.
When you are ready to awaken,
Turn your attention outward.
Focus on how your breath is moving in and out of your body.
Now turn your attention to how you are feeling.
Scan your body and notice how your body feels.
Turn your attention even more outward now.
Notice the sounds around you,
Your clothing against your body and become aware of the room you are in.
When you are ready,
Open your eyes,
Feeling refreshed,
Relaxed and ready for the rest of the day.
Now turn your attention to how your body feels.
