Brian Moses' "Days" is a playful and imaginative poem that explores the concept of time and its fleeting nature. Through vivid imagery and a sense of childlike wonder, Moses invites readers to contemplate the passage of days and the importance of cherishing each moment. The poem's lighthearted tone and rhythmic structure make it a delightful read for both children and adults.

Transcript

Days fly by on holidays.

They escape like birds released from cages.

What a shame you can't buy tokens of time,

Save them up and lengthen the good days.

Or maybe you could tear out time from days that drag,

Then pay it back on holidays,

Wild days,

Days you wish would last forever.

You could wear those days with pride,

Fasten them like poppies in your coat or keep them in a tin like sweets.

A confection of days to be held on the tongue and tasted now and then.
