Do you see this intensity that is a societal conditioning to hold on to an image of yourself?
Someone who's got their shit together.
So funny.
And look at what we're building on.
We're building on an idea of ourselves that is a projection of imagination.
There's an idea of yourself.
It's up here in the clouds.
Is that really you?
Is that real?
Or is that just an image?
Now,
Let me ask you.
Do you want the real thing?
Or do you want the pretend version?
What are you looking for in life?
Something real?
Or something fake?
In a relationship,
Are you seeking an authentic connection?
Or do you want a fake one?
In your search for something meaningful,
Are you looking for something that feels deeply real and meaningful?
Or something that's imaginary?
What do you want?
Do you want the real thing?
And again,
This is bad news for the ego.
For the ego that doesn't know that it's an ego.
It's bad news for the ego that is convinced it's real.
But for the ego that has been humbled,
Then that ego simply has permission to go play.
But it knows its role.
For example,
There's the ego of tiger that plays the role of spiritual teacher.
But so obviously,
I'm not really that.
It's just pretend.
I'm playing a role.
This is the role that is showing itself effortlessly in this experiment called tiger.
And then after I'm done here,
I'll turn off the camera and put on a different hat.
And even like the role of being a writer.
It's like you're not even that.
That is just what's happening.
It's so obvious that when I write,
It's not really me.
It's just what's happening.
Same with saying these words.
It's so obvious that the character in my mind called tiger is not the one speaking.
This is so much an exercise of getting out of the way and letting life breathe through you.
Do you see in the same way that your breath is effortless?
You don't have to do it.
It's the same for everything else about you.
It's almost like you're already the perfect puzzle piece that fits exactly where it's at.
And it's already engaged in this process that we might call consciousness expanding,
Which might also be learning and growing.
Let it happen.
And yeah,
There's so many ways we get in the way,
But that's part of the play is discovering the tiny ways we can take a step back,
Which is always some doorway of humility,
By the way,
And give life back to life.
Give yourself back to yourself,
Which is another way of saying,
Honor what is authentic.
Stop hiding or don't.
There's no demand.
It's really a question of,
Well,
What works?
Isn't that the thing?
In one way,
You can think that this is something or someone telling you how to live your life when really it's a question of what works.
What works as it relates to connecting with what you really crave.
And it's already been spelled out.
The ancient wisdom has been there since the beginning.
Are we going to surrender to what's true?
Or do we think we're going to find some sort of backdoor that the ego can sneak through and finally become real someday?
Thanks for hanging out with me.
