We often get lost in the illusion that our identity exists in the minds of others. But is their perception truly us? In this humorous and insightful reflection, Tiger explores the comedy of human perception—how we mistake mental images for reality, chase validation, and believe in the illusion that others are constantly thinking about us. What happens when we let go of these false realities and embrace what is actually real?

There's so much noise that we are wrapped up in that we mistake to be reality,

And it's not reality at all,

And it doesn't contain the reality that you're actually looking for.

You know what a great example of this is?

It's like trying to find the reality of what you are in the mind of other people.

Now look at the comedy in this,

And we can just use this moment as a great illustration.

Do you see that everyone that's looking at me or listening to me creates a different image of Tiger?

Everyone in their own mind creates this picture of who they think I am.

Do you think the picture that they have is the reality of what I am?

If somebody takes a photograph of you,

Is that you?

If they hold up the photograph and say,

I've got you,

Do they really got you?

Is that the reality of what you are,

Or is it just a picture?

Furthermore,

If they set the picture on fire,

Is something happening to you?

If they curse and hurl insults at the picture,

Is that really about you?

Do you see the same things happening in the mind?

It's a picture.

And so no matter what somebody says about the picture of you,

It's not actually about you.

More so,

They're talking to the image they've created.

So much to say,

They're not even talking about you.

Now the comedy in this,

Which also illustrates how lost we get and the vastness of the illusions we're swimming in,

Which is perfectly fine by the way,

How much of our lives are lived believing in a reality where other people are thinking about us?

How much mental commentary do we expend thinking about what other people are thinking?

In an effort to reach a prize that wants other people to see us a certain way,

Which we assume will give us a prize of connecting with something real.

It's almost like saying,

If enough people like me,

Then I'll like myself,

Which is coming back to that illustration of wanting a million social media followers,

If only.

So clear a metaphor on paying attention to what's real. In gratitude

Love, love, love the snippet. I’m going to set it aside and play it on those days when I take someone else’s behavior personally. Thanks, Tiger. 🧡🌞😊🧡🌞😊🧡🌞😊🧡
