There's what I think I want.
And then there's what I really want.
And I know that I'm lost.
When I think I want something from somebody else.
It's like saying my liberation exists.
In other people.
If only other people understood me.
If only other people did what I wanted.
If only other people weren't bothered.
Then I can be free.
And what I really want.
Is to be free.
But if I am going to be free,
I have to let go of other people.
If I am going to be free,
I have to first let everybody else be free.
Meaning?
To let them think what they think.
To let them feel how they feel.
And again,
This circles back around to seeing the truth of what you are.
Because given the conditioning.
.
.
It's understandable that as human beings.
We draw our sense of validation.
From how other people treat us.
Having other people agree with us.
But that's getting your validation.
From the mind of other people.
Where it's like.
.
.
If I be how you want me to be,
Then you'll love me.
Which means I can't be myself.
And whenever we have resentments towards other people,
Tell me,
Is it not wanting them to not be them?
Is it not wanting some form of validation from them?
And again,
It's all fine if it is.
But do you want to get your worth and value?
From the minds of others?
And then they can take it away?
If you don't be how they want you to be.
Because it sounds like.
.
.
More honestly,
What we're saying is I want to be free.
What is it to be free?
How can you be free if you don't let other people be free?
That's a good question.
Because if you're not letting other people be free,
Then they are your prisoners.
But how can you be free if you have prisoners?
And again,
I understand the difficulty in this as it relates to.
.
.
Not seeing the miracle that you're swimming in.
Like it seems totally dangerous to be that free.
But the more you see the truth of what you are,
The more you see,
Let's just say,
The heart of God in all that is,
It becomes much easier to just let go of people.
And not in a cold way,
Not in a resentful way.
More of an I-honor-your-journey sort of way.
And also what makes it so difficult is we're taking everything so damn personally.
When it's not personal at all.
Just like our resentments for other people,
We are taking something personally that's not really personal.
And just like other people's resentment for us,
It's the same thing.
These emotional energies that are sufferable in nature.
Are alarms of misunderstanding.
Or not seeing things clearly.
And so when we experience things like resentment,
It's an alarm that says we're not seeing things clearly.
Which is why resentment is beautiful.
Which is why it's totally allowed to feel resentment.
So that you can see what's actually going on.
There's no judgment at all for it.
This pain that we experience on the inside is so extraordinarily informative.
