There is simply,
Simply,
Simply,
Simply this beautiful invitation to just come home.
And of course the character freaks out about that because it's got so much shit to do.
Which is like saying it has so many things to think about.
It has so many tasks to prove itself as important,
Which is trying to prove itself as real.
One day,
One day I'll find myself,
It says.
One day I'll truly be validated.
And the only thing it runs into is its temporary imagination of being validated.
Where in moments,
Yeah,
It looks like you're validated.
You told a story that I'm validated.
And created a nice picture that validates that idea.
And so it looks true.
But as you've seen,
Every time it slowly fades away and you have to do it again and again and again.
It's beautifully exhausting.
Where are we going?
Do you see this imaginary character is on a quest to one day make itself real?
Which is kind of like saying,
One day I'm going to make this life thing about me for reals.
And in order for that to happen,
Gosh,
If only everyone would do what I want them to do,
Then the image I create will finally be permanent.
But everything keeps shifting around.
People keep being people.
The unknown remains to be the unknown.
Why can't I just do what I want?
And then of course,
The more you get in touch with what you really are,
You see that you don't need all of this.
You don't need people to not be people.
You don't need the unknown to become the known.
You realize that life has already created something quite magnificent and it knows exactly what it's doing.
And that can be so incredibly difficult for the mind to see,
Because the mind splits life up into 10,
000 pieces.
And then it tries to analyze those 10,
000 pieces,
Not realizing that those 10,
000 pieces are just your imagination of 10,
000 pieces.
They're not really there.
What's really there is one breath that breathes through it all.
And that breath is found right here and right now to get in touch with that presence and let all the noise melt away.
And hopefully,
Hopefully,
You can sense the humor behind it all.
To see that what appears to be a drama is just us telling a story that's quite dramatic.
And underneath it all is just a love.
Right?
You see that in your everyday experience,
Whatever the argument might be,
The confrontation,
The conflict,
Underneath it is a voice that says,
I love you,
But I'm just scared.
I'm scared of all my imaginary monsters.
I'm scared of these stories that I'm telling,
But underneath,
I do love you.
That's the truth underneath it all.
In fact,
I would say,
And I've said many times,
In some way,
That's the only thing we ever say to people.
It's one of two things.
It's either I love you or I love you and I'm scared.
And yeah,
It doesn't always come out so eloquently,
Does it?
But that's what's being said underneath.
And so,
Whenever somebody comes at me in what might be called a violent or aggressive way,
What are they really saying?
I love you,
But I'm scared.
Well,
That completely changes my interaction with them.
And furthermore,
If I ever feel that energy rise up inside of me,
I can ask,
What am I really saying?
I'm scared,
But I love you.
That changes the interaction,
Doesn't it?
It's so simple.
