The truth of the matter is that there's only one.
And in essence,
I am that one,
Or the one is playing itself out from behind my eyes.
The one is experiencing the one through the particular aperture of my consciousness.
And,
You know,
The funny thing here is that within my consciousness,
Or within my mind space,
Is this character of a self that is separate from all of the other selves.
And that character is a lie,
Meaning that that character doesn't actually exist as a separate something.
It's just imaginary.
And so the more that character tries to exist,
The more it reinforces separation.
Maybe in a religious context,
That character separates itself from God.
And it's so loud,
Like it's so obvious in my experience.
There's a very obvious mechanism of ego,
Who I think I am,
That is terrified of the truth that essentially says,
Who I think I am doesn't exist.
Which is like telling that character,
You don't exist.
Do you see how that character would be terrified of that?
Which in some ways is,
You know,
This inquiry,
It can be a scary inquiry.
Especially as you wake up to it after living a life that was completely in service to this character.
Do you guys notice this too?
Like within your human experience,
There is this image of you that is terrified of your own disappearance.
Which maybe it expresses itself like being terrified of not being validated,
Being terrified of being judged.
This is all the same thing.
And what I find interesting is that at the core of what we are scared of,
What we are scared of is the truth.
And I could make a really good case that the only thing you're actually afraid of is the truth.
With a caveat.
You're not afraid of the truth itself,
You're afraid of what you think that truth means about you.
So maybe more accurately,
You are terrified of your misunderstanding of the truth.
And this is the comical thing about fear,
Right?
As you look more closely at what you fear,
You see that you don't need to be afraid of it.
But it looks like to you that you are scared of that thing.
No,
You misunderstand the thing.
And once you see it more clearly,
The fear disappears.
