Metal: Utterly Gone
by Taylor Fox
This music is for folks who like heavy rock music and meditation. These contrasting yet harmonious elements invite a new depth to your practice, one that holds space for difficult feelings. The album 'Metal' is part of a series exploring natural elements using doom metal influences and ambient sound. It may seem counterintuitive, but doom metal has elements of white noise and drones that are conducive to relaxation and acceptance. Utterly Gone is inspired by the Buddhist Heart Calming Mantra: gate gate paragate parasamgate bodhi svaha. One translation is: gone, gone, utterly gone, everyone gone to the other shore, enlightenment. This track represents the lifting of the veil between worlds, reminding us of the lessons from departed souls that serve to connect and enlighten us.
