Hello and welcome,
I made this session specifically for the women listening.
Today and every day,
This is for you.
We're going to use a simple heart breathing practice to help you slow down,
Open up and receive something you probably don't give yourself enough,
Which is recognition for everything you are and everything you bring to the people around you.
So I invite you to find a comfortable position and let your body settle,
Close your eyes and take a deep breath in through the nose and a heavy exhale out.
Do it two more times.
Feel your feet,
Your hands and the weight of your body right now.
Just arrive here for a moment.
You don't need to be anywhere else and you don't need to do anything else.
And now I would love you to bring your attention to your chest,
The physical space,
The center of it,
Just behind the sternum.
You might feel some warmth there,
A subtle presence perhaps.
Place a hand there if that feels natural.
And this is where we're going to breathe today,
We're going to breathe into the heart space.
So with every inhale,
Imagine the breath going directly into that space,
Soften it,
Warming it and open it up just a little bit more.
In most of your life,
When you breathe out into the world,
You give,
You hold,
You carry.
So right now,
In your breathing,
I invite you to receive.
So here is the rhythm we will use,
It's very simple.
Inhale through the nose for a count of five,
Slow and steady,
Breathing directly into the heart and exhale through the nose for a count of five as well.
Very soft and passive.
So let's begin,
Inhale into the heart,
Two,
Three,
Four,
Five and exhale,
Two,
Three,
Four,
Five.
Again,
In and feel the chest rise and soften at the same time,
Four,
Five.
And exhale,
Easy,
Three,
Four,
Five.
And stay with this rhythm now.
Inhale into the heart and as you breathe in,
Think about one woman in your life,
Your mother,
Your daughter,
Your friend,
Your partner,
Someone who shows up,
Someone who holds things together quietly without asking for recognition.
Exhale softly and let the presence of this person fill up your whole body with care,
With love,
With gentleness.
Now in the next round,
Inhale in and I invite you to bring the same attention back to yourself this time because you are also that woman,
You also show up,
You also carry a lot of things.
You also make people around you feel safer,
Warmer,
More held,
Often without even knowing it.
So exhale out and let that land for a moment.
And how does it feel to bring this attention to you,
To honor the woman that you are?
Inhale again into the heart space and this time receive something.
Let yourself feel,
Even just for this breath,
That you matter,
That your presence in this world makes a difference,
That the smooth things you do every day that no one sees,
That nobody applauds are felt by the people around you way more than you know.
Exhale slowly and let these words resonate within you.
Inhale,
You are seen,
Even when it doesn't feel that way.
Exhale,
You are enough,
Exactly as you are right now.
Inhale,
The world is genuinely a better place because you are in it.
Exhale,
Let yourself be lived just for this breath.
Keep breathing into the heart space,
Keep receiving the love that you deserve,
The care and attention that you give to others.
And with every breath into your heart is a brighter light of love that grows,
That expands and that fills you up from the inside.
It brings joy,
It brings happiness.
It's this inner smile that embraces everything within you.
Stay with that,
Stay with that energy,
Stay with that power that you have and that you are.
And then slowly let go of the breath,
Let go of any image,
Any vision.
And take one last full breath in,
All the way into the heart,
Let it be generous.
And a slow exhale out.
And then let the breath return to its natural rhythm.
And sit here for a moment before you move on.
I want you to carry something from this practice with you today.
The care you give so freely to others,
You are allowed to give some of it back to yourself.
You have earned it and you deserve it,
Simply because of who you are.
With my hands on top of the heart,
I thank you for being here.
And I thank you for everything you bring to the world.
I honor you.
