Begin by allowing yourself to relax,
Inviting a sense of ease into your body,
And taking a nice deep breath,
Filling up your lungs,
And letting go of anything you may be carrying.
And then letting your breath come into its own natural rhythm,
At ease,
And noticing that awareness is here,
Lighting up your experience,
Awareness becoming aware of itself through you.
Noticing how awareness has a presence to it,
An aliveness,
A kind of glow.
One way to get in touch with it is to bring your hand to your heart,
And you might notice a gentle radiance there,
The glow of your heart,
The awareness of your heart.
And letting yourself relax into that presence,
Feeling the safety of it,
The spaciousness of it,
The complete silence and serenity.
Noticing how the more you become aware of the background presence of awareness,
The brighter the glow,
The more your experience of life gets lit up.
Awareness is the light of the world.
Awareness is more you than any thoughts you've ever had about yourself.
Awareness is that part of you that has always been,
And always will be.
Your fundamental nature,
Basking in that awareness.
Feeling how awareness is conscious of itself,
How awareness is your very essence.
And so in the hours and days to come when you feel contracted or tense or struggling,
With one deep breath,
Allow back in this remembrance,
This sense of the awareness that you are,
The awareness that holds it all.
Noticing how intimately and lovingly awareness comes to know itself through you.
Rest in that safety,
In the beauty,
In the expanse of your true being.
