Hello friends,
In today's mini practice inspired by the teacher Adyashanti,
We will explore the gaze of eternity and what it means to be poor in spirit.
When we open to the silence of the ground of being,
We let go of any self-description.
All self-description must be left behind,
Otherwise we cannot enter fully.
So we must be spiritually naked and as empty of self-orientation as possible.
This is what Jesus meant by being poor in spirit when he taught,
Blessed are the poor in spirit,
For theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
To be poor in spirit is to be empty of ideas and images and assertions or denials.
It is to enter into our empty,
Obscure and dark core that is in direct contact with the mysterious and unknown dimension of being.
We can't take any previous experience or past knowing with us into this ground.
Anything we hold on to will only hold us back.
It's so relaxing into your breath,
Letting your breath settle into your lower belly and noticing the already existing presence of silence there in your core and letting yourself rest deeply in that silence.
There's nothing you need to strive for here or make happen.
You're just resting deeply in your breath down into your belly with heartfelt devotion and focus,
Resting in that silent dark void,
The mystery of your being,
Letting the silent and unknown presence there see through your eyes,
Feeling the timeless experience of eternity gazing out into the world through your eyes at this very moment.
Eternity gazing into the world of time,
Turning within,
Noticing that there is no I or me.
No one is doing the looking,
The silent and mysterious presence,
The manifest expression of being looks out upon the world through your eyes.
Notice that this ground has no name,
No agenda,
Nothing to gain or lose.
It is the gaze of eternity looking into the world of time.
Just relaxing now into the experience.
There's nothing you need to do.
You can't do it wrong.
Just being the space through which eternity gazes into the world of time and enjoy.
Be well,
My friend.
