This meditation is called Mountain-like Might.
When you're ready,
Find a comfortable seat,
Sitting upright.
Place your hands on your thighs or in your lap,
Palms facing up.
Your back extends nice and long.
It should feel strong but not stiff.
Feel your shoulders relaxing down away from your ears and your neck nice and long with the crown of the head extending up towards the sky.
Your belly,
Your ribs,
And your chest are all relaxed and soft.
Feeling yourself opening up to the world.
Imagine that you're sitting on the throne of your own life.
Soften your eyelids,
Maybe so much that they close or maybe they stay open,
Softly gazing at the ground in front of you.
And from here,
Begin to relax into this present moment.
Begin to feel a sense of wholeness,
Of just being exactly who you are and how you are right here and right now.
And just be settling into this moment.
And as you settle into this moment,
Draw your awareness to your breath,
Noticing it's inhales and exhales and exhales.
Maybe your breath begins to slow down.
Maybe it deepens slightly.
Maybe you notice your breath not only touches your lungs but it fills your whole body.
In your mind's eye,
Begin to visualize a mountain.
This could be a mountain you're familiar with,
One you've hiked before,
Been to,
Or maybe it's one you've seen in photos.
Visualize it.
See it come into focus.
Notice the slopes,
The trees that line the mountain.
Notice the very peak and maybe any clouds that are around.
Really see this mountain in your mind.
As you visualize it in your mind,
Begin to feel a sense of oneness with the mountain,
Connection as if you are this mountain,
Feeling its stable energy.
The mountain sits on the earth,
Experiencing all of the different weather,
Storms.
The mountain experiences night and day,
Heat and cold.
The mountain experiences all of these different seasons.
And yet it still remains a mountain,
Remains stable and strong.
Observing and experiencing all of these different changes,
And yet it still is just the mountain.
And just like our own thoughts and experiences in life,
We can be like the mountain,
Stable,
Mindful,
And clear,
Experiencing all that life has to offer.
And yet we are always our true self.
We're always connected to our own.
Spend these last few minutes experiencing what this mountain experiences and letting yourself feel just like the mountain.
Begin to come back to focusing on your breath.
Coming back to this room.
Coming back to your own body.
Softly fluttering your eyes open,
Wiggling your fingers,
And feeling a sense of strength,
Feeling a sense of wakefulness.
I hope you have a beautiful rest of your day.
Take care.
