This is a l'efait of self-anocity.
As you listen and prepare for facing the impossible tomorrow,
Consider that the impossibilities we face could be anything.
Health related,
Job related,
Self related,
Or family related.
It doesn't matter.
Whatever the impossibility you face tomorrow,
That's tomorrow's problem.
Tonight,
I would like you to take a moment and center yourself.
Breathe deeply.
Let it out slowly.
Now all the things you're carrying,
Turn your hands upward,
Either with your body or your mind,
And let it all go.
May the burdens you carry become nothing more than the air around you and float away.
If you're feeling stressed,
Tighten your muscles,
Relax.
Tighten your muscles,
Relax.
If your thoughts are worrying you,
Repeating,
Closing in,
Or jumbled,
Imagine them as tiny little motes of dust that float away.
If they return,
Blow them away again.
Now focus on where you would like to go.
It could be a place you love.
It could be a place you wish to visit but have never been.
For me,
I remember sitting in the sandy bottom of Waimea Bay in Hawaii,
My snorkel poking over the top of the water,
As fish of every color swam in front of me.
It was like sitting inside of an aquarium.
A free range aquarium.
The water warm and shifting by the tide.
The fish unperturbed by my presence and traveling on their way.
No matter where I am,
I can recapture that moment by closing my eyes and focusing on that memory,
Like a fish scale shimmering in the water.
Now imagine where you want to go.
Take a moment to center yourself there.
Breathe deeply.
Let it out slowly.
If the world tries to creep in,
You maintain your hand as an eraser that can push it away.
If your thoughts try to return you to the real world,
Bring them back,
Centering them on the place you wish to be.
Take in the smells.
The humid warmth of a summer rain.
The way the sun makes leaves smell slightly hot and crisp.
Or maybe the smell of a particular flower or dirt beneath your feet.
Whatever it is,
Use those smells to place you there.
And when you need to,
Think back or think forward.
Whatever inspires you in this moment.
You could stay where you are or you could journey further in.
You could notice how things feel,
What textures and touches will bring you into this moment.
What is there to see?
How far can your eyes journey?
But dwell within the moment for as long as you need to.
You could spend the night here if you'd like,
You know.
All it requires is to picture this place until you fall asleep.
To push the world away and focus on all that centers you here.
All that keeps you here.
Everything else can wait.
Now before you drift off to sleep,
I'd like you to consider something.
There is no worry here.
There's no pain here.
There's no stress.
You are as free as free can be and tomorrow when the impossible returns.
Keep in mind that when you need to,
You can close your eyes and focus on this place once more.
This place that centers you.
This place that calms you.
This place that inspires you and rejuvenates you.
Even if for only a moment,
Just close your eyes and dwell in this space.
Breathe it in.
Breathe out all that makes life seem impossible.
Because nothing is impossible if you take it one step at a time.
So journey where you feel most peaceful,
Most rejuvenated,
Most centered.
Dwell in this place until you can be ferried into sleep.
And tomorrow,
Well tomorrow will come when it comes.
Thank you for joining me.
