Welcome to this EFT tapping session for that natural morning cortisol spike.
Now that spike is actually designed to wake us up but sometimes what can happen is it can trigger a feeling of physical anxiety.
So you might wake up with a racing heart,
Feeling quite tight chested,
Worried and just with a sense of dread and it can feel really overwhelming.
The good news is that research shows that EFT tapping directly signals to our nervous system to kind of calm down and clinical trials show a reduction in those cortisol levels,
That stress hormone,
By up to 43%.
So that's what we're doing today,
We're just going to try and soothe that physical stress response through tapping.
Just a reminder that before we get started,
That if that morning surge is really becoming a persistent pattern,
It's impacting your day-to-day life,
It's always worth discussing with your GP.
Okay so get yourself nice and comfortable we're going to take a moment to kind of just check in with ourselves so if it helps you to tune in you might like to just sit back in your chair you might like to close down your eyes or just have a nice soft focus or you can just focus in a kind of spot in front of you whatever feels safest to your body today is is the perfect choice for you.
And then just thinking okay tuning into the body a little bit and thinking on a scale of 1 to 10 We're going to rate the intensity of how you might be feeling right now.
So 10 is really high intensity,
Like the worst it's ever been.
And zero is completely neutral,
So there's no anxiety or tension present at all.
So just see where you fit or feel on that scale,
Make a mental note of that number because we're going to check in again at the end.
Brilliant.
Okay,
Let's go for it.
Let's start tapping.
So tapping on the side of the hand,
Repeating after me in your mind or out loud,
Either is fine.
Even though my body woke up with a surge of morning cortisol.
I'm open to allowing my nervous system to settle.
Just tapping softly.
Breathing in between.
Even though my morning started in really high,
Fast gear with a racing heart.
I honour what my body is experiencing.
And I choose to send it signals of safety.
So tapping,
Signalling that safety.
Even though this morning's spike feels overwhelming and stressful.
I acknowledge my body's reactions with curiosity and care.
And I choose to love and accept myself in this moment.
Okay,
Well done.
Up to the eyebrow point.
My body woke up in this high alert mode.
Side of the eye I feel uneasy,
Worried.
You can express whatever else you're feeling.
Under the eye,
Like I'm already behind or in danger.
Under the nose,
Noticing this surge of morning cortisol.
In point that's put me into fight or flight.
Collarbone.
It's like the moment I wake up,
Boom,
It's there.
Racing hearts.
Racing mind.
Tense body.
Under the arm.
I wish I knew why this was happening.
Top of the head.
I don't like feeling this way.
Okay well done so back to the eyebrow point we're going to go a little bit slower now so just slowing the tapping.
Repeating after me still,
Maybe my nervous system is helping me prepare for the day.
Side of the eye.
Even though it doesn't feel like it.
A gentle tap,
Slower pace.
Under the eye.
Maybe I'm just really in tune to subtle changes in my body.
Breathing softly.
Under the nose And that's okay.
Chin points,
Reminding my body that right here right now.
I'm safe in this space.
So eyes open,
Looking at me if you can.
Collarbone I'm tapping to send a signal of safety to my brain.
And it's safe to notice and explore this.
You're doing great.
Under the arm.
I'm open to letting this extra stress and energy melt away.
Top of the head,
Allowing myself to feel calm and grounded.
Even if just a little.
Even if just 5%.
Back to the eyebrow points.
Maybe this is a nudge to notice or slow down.
Side of the eye,
So I let my mind and body know I'm listening.
I'm listening.
Under the eye.
Maybe something in my life is quietly asking for attention.
Under the nose.
And if that is the case,
I'm open to the answers unfolding.
10 points.
It's okay to pause and give myself grace instead of pushing through.
And that's what you're doing right here,
Right now.
Collarbone point,
I give myself permission to seek care and support when I need it.
Under the arm and I'm allowed to slow down and rest.
Top of the head,
I might not have all the answers.
But being here is enough for now.
Let's do one more round,
Tapping on the eyebrow points.
I choose to release any urge to rush today.
Just sinking back in your chair a little.
Side of the eye.
And I don't have to carry yesterday's weight into today.
Take a breath,
Just releasing yesterday.
Under the eye,
Taking this one single moment at a time.
Under the nose reclaiming my morning peace.
Chin point,
Allowing my body to soften into a steady rhythm.
Collarbone points.
I choose ease over urgency today.
Under the arm,
Feeling grounded,
Present and calm right now.
Top of the head,
Trusting that my body knows how to find natural balance.
Lovely,
Well done.
So stop tapping there for a moment,
Just close your eyes.
You can rest your hands on your heart centre or on your lap,
It's up to you.
Let's take one more breath in.
And then slowly release.
Well done and then just checking back in with yourself,
Checking that.
That number from zero to ten and how is that intensity or tension feeling right now?
Just noticing if any tightness has shifted or softened or moved.
Knowing that even if that number is dropped by half a point really acknowledge that shift okay because those small little changes are proof that your nervous system is listening.
Reminding yourself as well that really building this quick morning tapping kind of into our daily habit can really gently train your mind and body to start your day in a much more calmer rhythm rather than staying in that kind of high alert alarm mode.
Lovely,
Well done.
So open your eyes and remember that whatever today holds,
You're allowed to meet it feeling,
You know,
Steady and grounded.
And also,
If this feeling does keep showing up in a way that feels bigger than just one or two rough mornings,
Then it's really worth having a conversation with your doctor or GP.
Thank you so much for tapping with me.
Have a calm day ahead.
Take care.
