Welcome to this tapping session for overthinking before sleep.
So if your mind starts racing the moment that your head hits the pillow this tapping session is really going to help you to calm your nervous system and invite in a bit of peace and calm.
So make sure that you are really comfortable wherever you're sitting.
You might be lying down in bed,
Wherever is fine.
And we're going to begin with a nice slow breath in through the nose.
Just arriving into this space.
And slowly out through the mouth.
Well done.
And then tapping on the side of the hand,
Repeating what I say either in your mind or out loud.
Reminding yourself that by tapping along with me,
You agree to take full responsibility for your own health and well-being.
And by the way,
If you feel like your arms are getting tired,
You can just imagine tapping.
That can just be just as beneficial.
So repeating after me,
Even though my mind is still going.
And I can't seem to switch it off.
I'm here and I'm being gentle with myself.
We're just holding ourselves with.
Friendliness,
A gentleness.
Even though part of me feels like I need to stay on top of everything.
Even now at bedtime,
Inconvenience.
I accept myself and how I'm feeling right now.
Even though resting doesn't come easily to me sometimes.
Maybe a lot of times.
And my nervous system still feels.
.
.
Alert,
Alive,
Switched on I deeply and completely love and accept myself.
Okay,
Up to the eyebrow point.
My mind still feels really busy.
Side of the eye.
There are all these thoughts swirling round.
Under the eye,
Things I said today.
Things I didn't say.
Things I said many years ago.
Under the nose things that i need to do Things I forgot to do.
10 points.
Problems I'm trying to solve before I've even closed my eyes.
My mind has been working so hard today.
Under the arm.
It hasn't really stopped.
I haven't really stopped top of the head and I can feel that in my body right now.
So maybe there's a sense of not being very settled or restless.
That's okay.
Just notice what's here.
Notice how the body feels.
We're not trying to judge anything or change anything.
We're just noticing it for now.
Well done,
Back to the eyebrow point.
I'd like to thank my mind for working so hard for me today.
Side of the eye.
My mind has been processing,
Planning.
Protecting.
Under the eye,
Trying to keep me safe.
Trying to stay ahead.
Under the nose Thank you,
Mind,
For all the ways you show up for me.
10 points.
I know this overthinking comes from.
.
.
Summer real And maybe that's a need to feel in control.
Maybe that's an old anxiety that really taught you to be,
You know,
Hypervigilant or on alert.
Whatever it is really does make sense.
You know,
Your mind,
It makes sense.
It's looking out for you.
It doesn't feel like it.
But it is.
Back to the collarbone,
There's been a lot to carry.
A lot to think about.
And I think carrying it all.
Under the arm I acknowledge how hard I've been trying to get through my days.
Top of the head.
But maybe I don't need to carry into the night too.
Maybe I don't need to carry it into the night too.
Back to the eyebrow point.
Could it be okay to rest now?
Side of the eye.
Maybe I don't have to figure everything out tonight.
Under the eye.
What if the thoughts could be here?
Or what if they could be near?
What if I don't push them away?
Under the nose I'm just letting my thoughts know.
You can soften now.
It's okay.
Chin point.
Any thoughts?
We've done enough for today.
We really have.
Collarbone point.
I'm going to gently box up some of these thoughts now.
Just for tonight.
So we're going to do this together.
So as we tap here on the collarbone,
Eyes closed if you haven't already.
I like you to imagine placing all of these swirling thoughts into a box.
Tapping and breathing as we imagine this,
Thinking about what that box might look like.
Maybe it's a starry dark blue box with a yellow ribbon.
Maybe it's a soft lilac box with a textured pattern.
Whatever you choose is perfect.
So choose a book.
Just place these salts in.
And I'd like you to really gently let all these thoughts drift into the box.
So we're not rushing them or forcing them or pushing them in.
We're allowing any thoughts that feel okay to be there,
Be there.
So let the thoughts drift in.
And if some thoughts need to stay,
That's okay too.
So let them drift in slowly,
Reminding yourself you're not locking them away forever.
All we're doing is safely settling them down just for tonight.
Tucking them in knowing that they'll be there tomorrow,
Exactly where you left them.
So letting the thoughts drift in.
And then when you're ready,
You can fasten the box in whatever way feels right for you.
So maybe.
.
.
You tie it with a ribbon.
With some string.
Some tape.
Or you just leave the lid slightly open.
And then you set that box down gently somewhere.
And it might be somewhere near,
By your bed,
Your window,
Your door.
In your home,
Or it might be somewhere far away.
Just settling the book somewhere for now.
Knowing wherever you choose is the perfect choice.
Knowing that just for tonight,
There's a safe enough distance.
And all is well.
Well done.
So back to tapping now under the arm.
Tomorrow,
Me.
Can pick the box back up again.
Top of the head.
Tomorrow me will wake up with fresh eyes.
And a little more space.
Back to the eyebrow point.
I give my nervous system permission to slow down now.
Tapping slowly.
Side of the eye.
I don't have to stay on alert tonight.
Under the eye.
Right now,
In this moment,
I'm okay.
Under the nose.
It's okay not to be in control of everything all the time.
Chin point.
It's okay to not know how it all turns out.
Collarbone.
I'm allowed to rest even when things feel unresolved.
You're allowed to rest.
Under the arm,
My worth isn't measured by how much I do each day.
Or how perfectly I handle things.
Top of the head.
I am worthy of a peaceful,
Calm mind and body.
Okay,
Let's do one more round.
Tapping on the eyebrow I welcome stillness into this space.
Side of the eye.
I welcome quiet.
Even if just a little.
Under the eye quiet space expanding within me.
Quiet space.
Under the nose,
Trusting my body to carry me into rest.
Chin points,
Allowing quiet space in my mind,
In my body.
Collarbone,
All is well enough in this moment.
Under the arm.
I love how I support myself.
With unconditional compassion.
Unconditional compassion.
Top of the head and I give myself permission to sleep well tonight.
And every night.
Well done.
Stop tapping there.
Place your hands on your heart.
Feel your heart beating.
And that beating heart means that you are worthy.
It means that you are deserving.
Allows space and calm to be here.
And invite that into your heart and your mind.
Space and calm.
You don't need to do anything else tonight.
Your mind did its absolute best today and so did you.
Rest well,
Beautiful one.
Good night.
