This is a 15-minute guided meditation to support surrendering and softening into life. Resistance comes when we don't allow reality to exist and instead try to control life from our heads. This meditation is an opportunity to soften into presence and awareness as we meet each moment with softness and surrender.

Hello and welcome to this meditation.

Please find a comfortable seat for yourself.

You're also welcome to lay down if that's more comfortable for you.

But somewhere where you can have steadiness and ease through your body.

And an awake and aware mind.

Once you've found your position,

Please roll your shoulders down and away from your ears.

And lift your chin ever so slightly.

And start to bring your awareness more focused towards your inner space.

Still noticing and acknowledging that the outside world does exist.

But concentrating more on your inner atmosphere.

Notice the rhythm and cadence of your breath.

And of your heartbeat.

Tune into sensations in your body.

Witnessing and noticing yourself as you are.

And tune into a sense of ease in your body and your mind.

As we turn towards more presence.

So much suffering of ours comes from resisting reality.

We put expectations on how we want the world to show up.

Or how we want to feel.

Or how we want outcomes to play out.

What if we could meet each moment accepting reality?

Saying yes and surrendering to the moment that is right in front of us.

What would it be like for you to radically accept and surrender to this moment?

To this moment that may contain physical sensation.

Thoughts.

Emotions.

What if all of that was welcome?

What if all that is right in front of you is welcome?

Is exactly as it's meant to be.

So let's start off acknowledging that in this very moment.

All that you feel.

All that you're thinking about.

All that is happening in your life is exactly as it's meant to be.

Try not to move into the past or the future.

Stay right here with exactly what's happening in this very moment.

Surrender and soften into this very moment.

Whatever is arising is allowed.

Whatever you're feeling is allowed.

Soften and surrender.

Let's move more broadly now and consider our day.

What if everything that happens or has already happened in your day is perfect and exactly as it's meant to be?

For example,

Maybe today you're really tired or maybe today you have to do something you don't really want to do.

What if that is exactly as it's meant to be?

How would you feel if you met this day without any resistance and instead you surrendered to feeling tired?

Or did the thing you don't want to do with intention and presence and meaning instead of creating preferences around your actions?

Soften and surrender to this day.

Be present with this day in a way that's meaningful and mindful.

Acknowledging this day has been unfolding and will continue unfolding exactly as it's meant to.

Let's get even more broad and look around at our lives.

Maybe there's an aspect or a situation in your life right now that you're resisting,

Where you're imposing an outcome or imposing something on someone else or on yourself.

Maybe you're not happy at work,

For example,

Or you're injured or you're feeling a lack of health or money.

How would it feel for you if you just stopped resisting?

How would it feel in your body to surrender?

To just know,

To truly know that everything is okay and this is exactly how it's supposed to be.

Your ego might fight that,

But there's a part of you that deeply knows this to be true.

Move away from your head,

The part of you that makes up stories and narratives and tries to control,

And move more towards that part of you that knows that life and your life is unfolding exactly as it's meant to and that there's nothing to fight.

Let your body take the shape of a person who knows that they do not need to fight.

Feel your whole body leaning into a place of surrender and softening and ease.

There's nothing to control.

There's nothing to fight.

Life is unfolding exactly as it's meant to.

Feel your shoulders soften.

Feel your belly soften.

And take some big breaths.
