Do you sometimes feel like things are going almost too well?
You can't believe your luck?
Maybe something wonderful has happened in your life.
You're receiving opportunities,
Kindness,
Recognition.
Love,
Encouragement,
Or simply a period of when everything is just generally going well.
And instead of being able to fully enjoy it,
Part of you is thinking How did this happen?
I'm me.
This can't last.
Or maybe there's a little voice that's saying,
I think I'm better than I really am.
They're going to find out.
I'm gonna get found out.
Then suddenly everything that should feel wonderful creates anxiety.
You may find yourself waiting for the moment when it all disappears.
This can be part of what we call the imposter syndrome.
It's that uncomfortable feeling that somehow you've been given something that you haven't really earned,
That you're not quite as capable,
Deserving,
Talented.
Or worthy as other people think you are.
Sometimes.
Imposter syndrome.
It doesn't appear women are struggling.
Sometimes.
It shows up.
When we're doing beautifully.
When we are receiving.
When we're finally getting some of those good things that we've been hoping for.
Believe it or not.
That can.
Feel surprisingly vulnerable.
So if you've been experiencing this,
Let's take a little time to step out of that cycle.
The thing is,
You don't have to convince yourself that everything is perfect.
It's okay.
To have a little.
You don't have to force yourself to feel confident.
We're just going to give your mind and your body permission to recognize that something good is happening.
And you.
Are allowed to receive it.
Okay,
Let's settle in.
Take a comfortable breath in.
And slowly breathe out.
Again?
Breathing in gently.
And breathing out more slowly.
Just allow you exhale.
To be slightly longer than your inhale.
And as you breathe,
Notice whether your shoulders can soften.
And let that jaw relax.
Let your hands become a little less tense.
You don't have to hold everything together right now.
You can simply be here.
Sometimes,
When something wonderful happens,
Our nervous system doesn't immediately understand that it's safe at this thing.
This unusual thing,
It's unusual.
Wonderful thing.
Because we're used to looking for problems,
Aren't we?
We're used to preparing for disappointment.
We're used to thinking about what might go wrong.
So when life suddenly becomes easier or more successful.
Our minds might actually go on alert,
Looking for the catch.
What's going to happen next?
What if I lose this?
What if I mess up?
But you know what?
Thought is not a prediction,
That's a thought.
A failing is not a fact.
And fear is not always intuition.
Sometimes fear is just your mind trying to protect you from uncertainty.
So when that little wave of imposter syndrome rises,
Let's pause.
Take a breath.
And remind yourself.
I don't have to solve a problem that isn't happening right now.
Take another slow breath in.
And breathe out.
You can even place a hand over your heart or somewhere that feels comfortable.
Comforting.
Right now,
Say to yourself.
I am safe to receive good things.
I am safe.
To receive good things.
I am safe.
To receive good things.
Maybe you spend a long time working hard,
Learning,
Growing,
Trying,
Adapting,
And doing your best.
You don't have to dismiss all of that.
Simply because something good has arrived,
You don't have to say,
I was just lucky.
Maybe there was some luck involved.
Life certainly contains circumstances that we can't control,
But luck doesn't erase your contribution.
You were still there.
You still showed up.
You still made choices.
You still learned.
You still tried.
Sometimes.
We're so accustomed to noticing what we haven't done yet that we forget to acknowledge how far we've already come.
I've been guilty of that.
So let's practice receiving your own achievements without immediately explaining them away.
Think of something good that's happened recently.
Doesn't have to be enormous.
Maybe somebody complimented you?
Maybe you completed something difficult.
Maybe you received an opportunity or someone trusted you.
Maybe you're simply having a period of life that feels lighter?
Whatever comes to your mind.
Allow yourself to acknowledge it.
You don't have to minimize it.
You don't have to say it was nothing.
Just.
.
.
That was good.
I'm grateful for that.
I allowed myself to receive that.
Now.
.
.
Let's go through.
A few affirmations to seal in this new good energy.
You can repeat them silently.
Aloud or just listen.
Whatever is your mood at the moment.
I am worthy of good things.
I don't have to earn my right to receive kindness and abundance.
I can fully appreciate.
What is going well?
I trust myself to meet whatever comes next.
I don't have to be perfect to be worthy.
I don't have to know everything to belong in the room.
Let's see that again.
I don't have to know everything.
To belong in the room.
I can allow myself to be seen as I really am.
I can receive praise.
Without immediately dismissing it.
I can receive praise.
Without immediately dismissing it.
I am allowed to feel proud of myself?
Good things happening to me.
Do not make me an imposter.
Let that one settle for a moment.
Good things happening to you.
Do not make you an imposter.
You don't have to become a different person to deserve the life you're building.
And maybe.
If you're someone whose mind tends to race when these feelings appear,
Here's another technique.
Breathing,
A gentle breathing pattern.
Breathing in for four.
Four Three.
Two.
1.
And breathing out.
Or six.
Oi!
Four,
3 too.
1 The exact numbers aren't important,
So if you can't make six,
Breathe out for five,
Breathe out for four,
Adapt it.
The whole idea is just slowing down gently.
You don't have to prove you deserve this moment.
You don't have to prove you're good enough.
You can simply.
Experience it.
Another practice,
Replace the question,
What if I lose this?
Replace that with.
What if I allow myself to enjoy this while it's here?
Worrying doesn't protect us from loss,
It just steals some of the enjoyment from the present moment.
So.
If you are mentally rehearsing a future disappointment.
Return yourself gently.
To the now.
Look around you.
Notice where you are.
Feel your feet.
Feel that you're supporting you,
Take a breath and ask yourself,
What is actually happening right now?
Not what might happen.
Not what happened before.
Not what your anxious mind is predicting.
What is happening right now?
Right now.
You okay?
And that's enough.
Be perfect as you are.
You're perfect.
As you are.
Being grateful for good fortune doesn't mean you have to pretend you've done everything alone.
You can acknowledge the people,
Circumstances,
And opportunities that helped you.
You can say,
I was fortunate.
And also,
I worked hard.
I participated.
I made choices.
I accepted the opportunity.
Both of these things can be true.
You don't have to choose between humility and self-worth.
You can be grateful and still recognize your own contribution.
You can be humble without making yourself small.
You can appreciate other people's support without erasing yourself from your own story.
You don't have to think.
Oh,
If so-and-so hadn't done this.
I wouldn't be where I was.
You helped.
You're Progress.
Along the road of life.
You were an active participant.
So,
Okay.
If you're experiencing a season of unexpected goodness.
Go for it.
Let yourself smile.
Say thank you,
Enjoy the compliment,
Celebrate the little victory.
Take the opportunity.
You don't have to immediately ask what could go wrong.
And if something doesn't go wrong.
It's all good.
And if something doesn't work out,
You deal with it later.
Don't suffer in advance.
We got few more affirmations to close.
I am allowed to enjoy what is going well.
I trust myself to handle change.
I can be successful.
Without becoming someone I'm not.
I can be learning and still be worthy.
I can be imperfect and still be enough.
I receive good things.
With an open heart.
I honor how far I've come.
I trust that I belong where I am.
I deserve good things.
And I am allowed to enjoy them.
And one more time,
In breath.
Out breath.
And just visualize yourself.
In a loving shower.
Crystal pure white rays of goodness and love You're yours.
Because you've earned it and because you deserve it.
And accept it and smile.
With much love.
Many blessings to you.
