Hello and welcome to this morning coffee meditation.
Before we do anything else,
Let's just arrive here.
If you have a coffee ready,
Sitting with it comfortably in your hands if it's not too hot to do so.
Feeling the weight of the cup in your hands.
The warmth moving through the vessel and into your palms.
There's nothing to change,
We're just noticing and grounding ourselves in the present moment.
We're taking a pause before the day begins.
Bringing your awareness to your breath.
Noticing the inhale.
And noticing the exhale.
With each exhale,
Allow it to help you soften.
Your shoulders drop.
The tension melts from your face.
Your jaw relaxes.
Gently bringing the cup closer.
And noticing the scent as you breathe in.
Letting the scent of the coffee be exactly what it is.
There is nowhere else you need to be right now.
This moment is enough.
And when you're ready,
Taking your first sip.
Noticing the temperature,
The taste,
The way it feels as it moves through your body.
Not labeling it as good or bad,
It just is.
And as you continue sipping,
You settle in even more deeply.
Purely recognizing the sensations,
Your breath,
And how all of these small moments and movements are grounding you and preparing you for a settled day ahead.
If your mind starts to wander,
That's okay.
Simply returning to the warmth in your hands.
The sensation of the cup as it rests in your palms.
Using each sip or each breath to bring you back.
Maybe beginning to imagine that with each sip,
You're inviting steadiness into your body.
Not energy,
Not motivation,
But steadiness.
A calm,
Grounded presence that you can return to throughout the day.
Now,
If it feels right to do so,
Choosing a simple word,
A quality for you to embody today.
Something gentle.
Ease.
Clarity.
Patience.
Presence.
There's no need to force it.
Just gently let the word settle in the background.
As you continue to drink your coffee,
Feel yourself supported,
Grounded,
And held here in presence.
Returning back to the moment of being.
Back into the space and ready to start your day whenever you feel ready to do so.
