Welcome to this simple breathwork practice.
I'm Soleil and I'm honored to guide you through the breath and into your body.
For this practice,
It's important that you are somewhere where you feel safe enough to close your eyes and ideally lay down.
And if that's not accessible,
You can do this seated,
Even in your car,
If you're pulled over somewhere entirely safe and you're not driving.
Take the next few moments and get yourself comfortable so that you won't have to move or fidget and you can totally relax and let go.
And then once you're in position,
Close your eyes gently and remind yourself that it is safe for you to let go.
It's safe for you to be in your body and it's safe for you to express yourself through your breathing.
And at any time that this feels uncomfortable or there's any kind of urges in the body,
Just open your eyes,
Stop the practice,
And return to a normal breath.
So as you're laying here relaxing with your eyes closed,
Just start by noticing the space your body's occupying.
Feel your connection to the earth and let your body deepen in relaxation as you press into the floor or whatever surface you're resting on.
And then simply allow your body to open as you continue to relax,
Letting your shoulders soften,
Your hips soften and let go.
And then just gently move downwards from your head and successively relax each part of the body from the neck,
The arms,
The torso,
And down through your legs into the feet.
And then maintain softness in your abdomen as you start to pay closer and closer attention to your breathing.
Take three nice,
Deep,
Even,
Continuous breaths in and out of your nose.
On this next breath,
You'll continue to breathe in through the nose,
Breathe out through the nose,
Deepen the breath,
And then open the mouth when you exhale.
Breathe through the nose,
Open mouth,
Exhale.
Inhale,
Open mouth,
Exhale.
Repeat that until you've established a consistent,
Steady pace.
In through the nose,
Out of the mouth.
Stay steady and keep breathing.
And just 15 more,
I'll count for you.
Keep breathing.
If you get dizzy or lightheaded,
Stop.
In through the nose,
Out of the mouth.
Last five,
Last deep breath in,
Exhale out of the mouth,
And then inhale through the nose slowly to hold the breath in and maintain this breath hold as long as you are comfortable knowing that you can breathe out anytime you need to.
Breathe out at any time.
There's no forcing,
Nothing to prove,
And if you're comfortable,
Keep holding.
And then once you've released the breath,
Let that integrate.
Continue breathing softly for a couple rounds.
Remain flat on your back and get ready for round two.
You know what's coming.
Let's see if we can drop in a little bit deeper.
Start with a nice big breath in,
Open mouth,
Exhale.
In through the nose,
Out of the mouth.
Stay steady and keep breathing.
In through the nose,
Out of the mouth.
In through the nose,
Out of the mouth.
Stop at any time you feel dizzy.
15 more,
I'm counting for you,
Just keep breathing.
Last five.
Last deep breath in through the nose,
Out of the mouth,
And then inhale to hold.
Nice deep full breath through the nose,
And then pause here.
Suspend any thoughts and just be with yourself.
Travel deep inside your own body.
Be responsible for your hold,
Holding only as long as you're comfortable,
Knowing that you don't have to prove or force anything to get powerful results.
Whenever you're ready to release the breath,
Just quietly integrate by continuing to be still on your back and letting the breath return softly and gently.
For the next few minutes,
Simply be aware of sensation in your body.
Whatever it is,
Let it be perfect without needing to fix it or change it or analyze it.
Just be with yourself.
Know that you're perfect just as you are.
This practice is simply a reminder of that.
Keep allowing your body to open and keep letting go.
And then before you move on with your day,
Acknowledge this practice,
Acknowledge your commitment to yourself,
And then just take a short moment in gratitude,
Whatever form it takes today,
Whatever that looks like to you.
And then very slowly just roll to your right side and be gentle with yourself as you start to open your eyes and return to your body and whatever room you're in.
And then have a beautiful day.
