Music Billy and Zack the Cat in Space Hello and welcome to this story at the end of a busy day.
Over the course of the next few minutes we will listen to a soothing bedtime story as you get comfy in your bed.
Even if you have had a fun day full of learning and playing and even if you don't feel like sleeping right now just let yourself listen to the story and imagine that you are riding along with Billy and Zack the Cat on their outer space adventure.
Let's get comfortable now making sure your blankets and pillows are nice and soft.
Let your eyes close sliding gently shut as you start to breathe a little deeper.
Just taking a deep breath in breathing in through your nose and blowing that breath out letting it all go,
Whooshing it out and again breathing in through your nose and blowing it out.
One more time,
Breathing in taking in a big breath through your nose and let go.
And just return your breathing back to its normal pattern.
As you get a little more relaxed imagine yourself standing up from your bed and walking over to the bedroom door.
You don't actually have to stand up since you are just pretending and in real life you are still cosy in your bed.
Imagine putting your hand on the door knob and opening the door knowing that two of your good friends will be waiting for you on the other side.
When you open the door your friends Billy and his cat Zack are waving to you.
Billy is just your age and you've been friends for a long time.
Zack his cat is all black with white paws.
It looks almost like Zack is wearing little white mittens.
You say hello to your friends and ask them what game would you like to play today.
Let's play games on the moon,
Zack says.
I have a rocket ship but I need someone to drive it for us.
Will you be the pilot?
If you would like,
You,
Zack and Billy can walk out of your house and out into the driveway or onto the sidewalk where a giant red rocket ship is parked.
It has yellow fins,
Lots of lights and a steering wheel that's just your size.
You and your friends climb inside and you get the spaceship ready for take off.
The three of you count down.
Five Four Three Two One Blast off!
And as you say this you feel the ship lift off flying up through the air.
Look out the window and see the houses and trees growing smaller and smaller.
From up so high the buildings look like tiny building blocks and the trees resemble the smallest pieces of brocolli that you can find in the desert.
The trees are so small that they look like they're made of wood.
They look like tiny building blocks and the trees resemble the smallest pieces of brocolli that you've ever seen.
Beside you,
Zack and Billy laugh with joy and excitement.
You are driving the rocket ship and you get to decide how fast to go.
Try speeding up and slowing down.
Steering the spacecraft through fluffy clouds and up into the blue night sky.
Soon you have left the clouds and are floating among stars and planets.
If you want,
You can steer a little closer to a planet and wave at the creatures that live there.
They are friendly and excited to see you,
But there's no time to stop now.
You can come back and play with them later,
But for now you are headed to the moon.
Look out the window and see the pale white glow of the moon nearby.
As you get closer,
It grows larger and larger.
Soon you will be able to land on it.
As you steer the rocket ship onto the soft,
Powdery ground of the moon,
Billy and Zack gather up your favorite toys.
The three of you climb out of the rocket ship and as you touch the ground,
You realize it feels like sand,
But is sticky like snow.
Although it doesn't feel cold,
You,
Billy and Zack,
Could build a snowman or even a fort.
Would you like to build a fort?
If so,
Imagine you and your friends padding together walls and stairs,
Building an enormous castle out of the soft,
Warm sand on the moon.
You can add a drawbridge or a tower,
And when it's finished,
You can play whatever game you would like in the fort.
Billy and Zack run alongside you,
Laughing and giggling as you play together.
It feels so nice to have fun with your two friends,
Enchanted by the glowing moon and beautiful stars all around you.
Breathe a little deeper and just for a few moments enjoy your time here with your friends.

Return to the rocket ship,
Count down to launch and fly back up into the sky.
All around you,
Planets and galaxies sparkle and dance as your ship floats through them.
Look out the window.
What do you see?
Where would you like to go?
As you soar through the stars,
Feel your body growing more relaxed.
Your legs and arms feel heavy,
And you can feel your back sinking into your soft mattress.
All around you,
The stars glitter and glimmer,
And the moon grows larger and larger as your rocket ship gets closer to it.
Your breath is deep and relaxed,
And you can feel your tummy rising and falling with each breath in and out.
Notice the way your blankets feel against your skin.
Are they cool or warm?
Breathe a little deeper and imagine yourself looking at all of the planets and stars as you relax a little more.
And now if you would like,

Zack and Billy,
Return to the rocket ship,
Count down to launch and fly back up into the sky.
Music Music Music If you would like to,
You can land the spaceship anywhere you want.
You could land on another planet,
Or soar through an ocean of stars.
You could make friends with the creatures and new friends you meet,
Or toast marshmallows over a tiny sun.
You are the pilot of this spaceship and you get to choose.
Whatever you want to do,
Billy and Zack will come with you,
Enjoying your company.
You could play tag or hide and seek,
Or get your favorite toys out of the trunk of the ship.
Anything is possible,
And you get to decide.
So as you steer the rocket ship through the skies,
Let yourself relax a little more.
Zack's soft black tail tickles your arm,
And beside you,
Billy points out patterns and shapes in the sky that you hadn't noticed before.
And with every breath,
You feel yourself growing more and more relaxed.
Take a little while now and enjoy your adventure with your friends.

A tiny bed rests nearby for Zack the cat filled with soft blankets and a little pillow.
Imagine yourself crawling under the covers,

But for right now your only job is to snuggle a little deeper into your blankets,
Get a little more comfortable and just listen to the sounds of the music in this meditation.
You've done such a good job on this adventure and all that is left is for you to rest.
