Let's begin by settling the mind on the breath.
We can do this in a posture that is both upright and alert,
And also relaxed and soft.
Noticing the breath coming in,
Noticing the breath going out.
Perhaps paying particular attention to the out breath,
The sense of softening and release that happens in the out breath.
Now I'd like you to bring to mind someone that really loves you.
Someone in your life that you know cares about you deeply.
It could be someone that's currently alive as a friend or family member,
Or it could be someone who's passed.
Bringing this person into mind as best you can.
Seeing if you can imagine their face,
Smile,
Their hand on your shoulder.
And see if you can feel in your heart them wishing you well,
Them offering their love to you.
See if you can feel a sense of unconditional support,
So no matter what you're feeling or experiencing,
They're there.
And they're happy to see you.
They're happy to be with you as you are.
See if you can breathe in that feeling into the heart and allow it to expand out in the body.
And just inviting in a sense of love and care as best we can.
Seeing what it feels like in the body to feel loved,
To feel seen,
To feel cared for.
Just resting in this for as long as you like.
And when you're ready,
Engaging,
Engaging once again with the world around you.
