This meditation will help you to feel strong and grounded.
Start by closing your eyes,
Cup your hands together or place your open palms on each of your knees.
Place yourself comfortably,
Sinking into your surroundings.
Take two cleansing breaths,
Breathe in through your nose and release through your mouth.
Take another breath in and release.
Feel yourself relaxing and your body letting go.
In your mind I want you to imagine yourself standing at the opening of a beautiful forest.
Through the trees you can see a beautiful winding path.
The sun is breaking through the foliage,
Calling you to follow.
A soft inviting breeze persuades you to move forward along the path.
The forest is welcoming you into this space.
There are wonderful peaceful sounds throughout your forest and the birds are singing joyfully.
In the trees there is a wonderful breeze and the creatures of the forest are in harmony.
The air is fresh and oh so very very clear.
It is calming your mind and emptying your thoughts.
I want you to centre your attention on a large aspen tree in front of you.
See how tall,
Slender and graceful it is.
It has round wavy edge leaves and they shimmer in the breeze.
It has magical powers and protective qualities.
You feel safe.
You feel alive.
You feel strong.
Looking up,
Place your attention on the top of the tree.
See how freely it moves in the breeze.
See how sturdy it is.
It is reaching high up into the sky and this is a beautiful sky.
Now looking up at your tree I want you to take in its splendour.
It is majestic.
It is beautiful.
It is unfailing.
Now move down,
Deep down to the roots.
They are binding your tree to the earth.
In your mind I want you to imagine you are the tree with your roots reaching deep into the ground.
No matter what happens on the surface,
Your roots will keep you protected and grounded.
Take a few cleansing breaths and feel the air as your chest expands.
Send the calmness as you release,
Drawing strength from your tree.
As your journey ends,
You have deep strong roots that are grounding you.
I want you to open your eyes.
You are secure.
You are safe.
You are grounded.
