I'm Colleen Thomas.

This is Daily Magic for Peace.

Today we will send prayers for physical safety to the people of Ukraine.

Welcome to the circle.

I'm so glad you're with us today.

The only thing that you need today is a bowl of salt or a bowl of earth or maybe a plant.

Some representation of groundedness of this beautiful earth that we all live on together.

This beautiful soil that we all stand on.

The foundation beneath us.

And as we arrive,

I invite you to take a breath and to take your seat in the circle.

The circle that we are sharing with everybody who is listening to this episode.

The circle where we are focusing our prayers and our magic together.

For our first grounding experience today,

I invite you to simply picture someone you love.

This can be a person.

This can be an animal.

But picturing this being in front of you,

Just call them to your mind and allow them to connect with you.

Maybe look into their eyes.

Just really experience having them in front of you with their full attention on you and notice your heart.

See if you can feel that sensation in your heart of being so close to somebody that you love,

Being so connected to somebody that you love,

Thinking so deeply about somebody that you love.

And I invite you to take a breath.

Our second grounding experience today will be connecting in with the first chakra.

The first chakra is located at the base of the spine.

And some people see it at a red color,

But it might appear any color to you.

So I invite you if it's comfortable for you to close your eyes or turn your gaze inward and bring your attention to that space at the bottom of your spine to that first chakra area and see if you can feel into that space.

See if you can feel your energy center.

See if you can see your body.

See if you can feel your see if you can see your energy center in your mind's eye.

And as you notice it,

Or feel it,

Or even imagine it,

You might notice,

Feel or imagine what it feels like.

If there's anything that you'd like to release out of it or any way you might like to strengthen it.

The first chakra is where we connect to being in a body,

To being alive.

It's all about safety and groundedness and food,

Shelter,

Water,

Primary needs.

And let's take three breaths together to release anything we don't need and to strengthen the brightness of that essential life essence.

So I invite you to breathe in and breathe out.

Releasing anything you might not need from that first chakra space and back in.

Seeing it brighten and out.

Releasing anything else you don't need and in.

Seeing it very bright now and releasing out.

Touching in with the first chakra is a useful thing to do when there's conflict or concern or any kind of natural disaster or even a financial challenge in our lives because we can get activated at that first chakra level because its survival comes up.

And it's a very reasonable thing to feel and to worry about when big things are happening.

So if right now with things going on in the world,

If you're noticing you're maybe jumpy or you just feel unsettled or nervous or anxious,

Sometimes connecting in with that first chakra space,

Giving it some love,

Releasing things we don't need,

Strengthening our solidity in that area can be very helpful.

So today with our bowl of salt or our bowl of earth or our plants,

We are going to send prayers for physical safety to the people in Ukraine.

So I invite you to hold your bowl of salt or earth or plant if you have it or imagine it.

If you're imagining it,

You might just imagine a spot on the earth that is very calming,

Where you feel very grounded.

The point of this prayer,

This magic,

This meditation is to connect with the earth,

Connect with our strength,

Connect with a feeling of safety,

Of physical safety.

Deep,

Deep gratitude to the earth,

Deep,

Deep gratitude to the safety that comes to us,

The richness of the earth and holding,

I'm holding a bowl of salt,

Holding the salt or this earth in our hands or our mind,

Our heart.

I would just invite us to focus our prayer,

Our magic for physical safety and send that to wherever it's needed on the planet,

But especially sending it to the people in Ukraine.

Help them be safe,

Help them be sheltered,

Help them escape violence,

Help them maintain connection with their loved ones,

Stay together as families and be safe and come out of this as safe as possible.

Just imagining that,

Imagining an energy of safety,

A physical safety,

Going out from your hands and going to that part of the world and sending that magic.

And so it is.

Thank you so much for being with us today.

Your presence,

Your energy and your heart make all the difference in healing our world.

Breathe and expand.
