I want to offer support and comfort for anyone who is in a place of grief from losing a loved one, to allow yourself to acknowledge the pain, to sit with it, and allow it to flow through you and not hold it. To allow yourself time to heal and time to grieve. I had the urge to write this on a bench looking over the ocean, on the anniversary of becoming a widow.

Dear friend,

I am sorry for your loss.

I want to sit here with you,

Offering you support and love on an energetic level.

I want you to know right now in this moment,

When you are reaching out and sitting in your pain,

Your grief,

Your loss,

That someone is there for you,

Just holding space for you.

To be there in the very moment of your grief.

The place we didn't ask for,

But yet it came.

It came with its immense pain,

Its darkness,

Its wakening up of every emotion that you knew not of its depths.

It opened doors you never knew could exist that strongly.

Or how it could pour at you and you fall to your knees,

Feeling an emptiness you never knew existed.

I invite you to sit with it,

To observe it,

And to let it wash through you.

To not attach to the story of what it is,

But almost welcome it in to remind you how you can feel so much.

How you could love so much.

Allow it to pass through you,

Without attachment and holding on to it.

Be kind to yourself and allow grace to hold you.

To know the earth is there supporting you,

Quietly,

Gently,

Without a word,

Just holding space.

Feel the air and the sky silently washing around you,

Taking away the pain and hurt from your outer self.

So you can deal with the internal conflict you are faced with.

This is a time for you to connect so deeply to your heart that has been battered and bruised.

Hold your heart,

Hold you.

Hold your heart lightly and thank her for loving so deeply.

For feeling so deeply and genuinely.

Hold her lightly so she can find space to breathe again and allow you space to breathe again.

Listen to her voice,

For she may speak so gently as she tries to deal with the grief.

Or she may shout so loudly to make sense of the new scary world that you have been forced into.

Please know dear friend,

This will ease over time,

Although right now it does not seem possible.

Allow yourself to be here with what shows up,

Label the feelings.

Without judgement,

Just observing them.

Then allow them to pass through you as they are not yours to keep,

So let them go.

It does not mean you let go of the love or the memories.

It just means it will allow you to heal and allow you to live.

But then you can start to see with compassion and love the beauty of what you lost,

Rather than feel and experience the pain and sadness each time.

So you can remember the love and the joy that once was with fondness and appreciation and stop letting the pain deepen and hurt you.

You deserve to be healed.

You deserve to be loved.

You deserve to feel joy every day.

Allow yourself this.

So sit in peace.

Sit in your silence.

Be here,

Be present.

But be kind to you.

It's okay to grieve.

It's okay to feel this.

But don't hold onto it.

Don't keep that pain.

Allow it to pass through you.

Allow yourself time.

Time is your friend.

Even if you feel very alone,

Know there is more than what you can see.

Angels are by your side,

Sitting with you,

Silently holding you.

Be healed.

Be comforted.

I wish you love.

I wish you peace.

From a widow who has felt so deeply and know of so much pain,

I offer you comfort.

I accepted my journey and have found peace and light.

I wish you the same.

I love you.

Thank you Sue for your heartfelt grief meditation. It helped me this morning release some pain after the loss of my wonderful Dad in 2020 and now my beloved Mother in March 2024. I was so touched by your sharing at the end of this beautifully simple invitation. Thank you from one soul to another. 🙏❤

Such a soothing meditation.. Its 9 months as I lost my husband. Everyday I try to honour his memory.. By living life for our children. The pain is deep.. Nevertheless the beautiful memories keep me going. Thank you for your powerful meditation.. The words are profound n deep.. The waves in the background also added to the beauty..on a personal note my husband loved the sea. Much love to you too as you journey with your loss.

I lost my father unexpectedly yesterday. I woke up this morning and didn’t know what to do. The tears are strong and wonder how I will handle this world without my strong dad. Tears roll down my cheeks. I searched for a meditation that would speak to my heart, and yours popped up🤍. It’s hard to know what to do or that this pain will ever go away. I thank you for this meditation this morning, that allowed me to feel the feels and remember the good memories of my father, a man, who died doing what he loved, farming! The moment seems surreal and today as we go about planning his funeral my heart aches and is in pain for what my family- my brothers and my sister and I are going through as we watch our mom lose the love of her life! So thank you for a moment of solitude with this beautiful meditation
