Hello,

My name is David Briggs.

Welcome to this meditation for finding your way out of the storm.

This meditation is for when you are feeling overwhelmed by stress or chaos.

Today we are going to gently find our way out of the storm on the ocean and discover a safe harbour within.

As you find a comfortable position,

Either seated or lying down,

Close your eyes or soften your gaze.

Allow your body to begin relaxing as you prepare to journey through this meditation.

Let's begin by taking a few deep breaths,

Inhaling peace and exhaling any tension.

Breathe in,

Breathe out.

Breathe in,

Breathe out.

Breathe in,

Breathe out.

One last time,

Breathe in,

Breathe out.

Allow your breathing to return to its natural rhythm.

Feel your body grounded and present.

Now imagine you're on a small boat in the middle of a vast ocean.

The sky is dark and the waves are turbulent,

Rocking your boat back and forth vigorously.

This storm represents the chaos you feel in your life at this moment.

You are searching for a way out,

Longing for peace and calm.

As you continue to breathe,

Visualize the storm beginning to subside.

The waves become gentler,

The wind softens and the sky starts to clear.

The chaos is fading and in the distance you see a light,

Guiding you to a safe port.

This light represents the peace and calm within you,

Always there,

Even in the middle of the storm.

Now imagine you are rowing your boat towards this light,

Feeling the waters grow calmer with every stroke.

Notice how your body feels lighter,

How your mind becomes clearer as you approach this haven.

As you continue to row,

You're moving away from the storm and towards a tranquil harbour.

As you reach the port,

You realize it is a sheltered cove.

The water here is peaceful,

Clear and still.

Now step off the boat and onto the solid,

Comforting ground.

Turn around and look at the storm in the distance.

Know that you have navigated your way through it,

You've found your way to serenity.

Take a moment now to feel this peace.

Take a few deep,

Reassuring breaths.

Repeat to yourself,

Either aloud or in your mind,

The following words.

I am calm,

I am calm,

I am calm.

Let these words resonate within you,

Anchoring the feeling of calm and peace within you.

Now when you're ready,

Gently bring your awareness back to your body.

Feel whatever is beneath you and the air around you.

A bell will ring to end this meditation.

When you are ready,

Slowly open your eyes and carry this sense of calm with you.

Remember,

You can return to this safe place anytime the storm of life feels overwhelming.

Wishing you peace,

Calm and serenity.

Thank you for your presence.

Namaste.
