Welcome to this anger release meditation.
My name is Sonja and I will be your guide through this experience.
This is a safe place to meet your anger with compassion and begin to release what no longer serves you.
Take a moment to settle in.
Find a comfortable position either sitting or lying down and you can close your eyes or soften your gaze whichever feels more comfortable for you.
You can bring one hand to your heart and one to your belly.
Feel the steady rhythm of your breath.
Feel your body held by the ground beneath you.
You are safe here.
You are allowed to feel.
Let's begin with a gentle intention.
Ask yourself,
What would it feel like to meet this anger with softness?
What would it feel like to let this anger move through me instead of getting stuck inside me?
And there is no need to have an answer.
Just breathe into the question.
Anger is not bad.
It is not wrong.
Anger is a messenger.
Your anger is sacred.
Your anger shows you where a boundary has been crossed,
Where something feels unfair.
Your anger is a fire that rises when you feel disrespected,
Dismissed,
Hurt or unseen.
Anger is there to protect you.
But holding onto it too long can become heavy.
It can build bitterness and resentment over time towards others or even towards yourself.
Anger can get you caught in rumination loops,
Replaying events and fueling more anger.
And this in turn can reduce your ability to see nuances or solutions.
That is why today you are choosing to let some of that weight go.
Let's begin with a few grounding breaths.
Take a long deep breath in through your nose and a slow,
Long exhale through your mouth.
Again,
A long deep breath in and a slow,
Deep breath out,
Letting go.
One more time,
Inhaling strength and exhaling tension.
Let your breath return to a normal rhythm and feel yourself softening with each exhale.
Now bring your awareness into your body and ask gently,
Where do I feel this anger right now?
Is it in your chest,
Your throat,
Your belly,
Your fists?
Is it tight,
Hot,
Pressured?
Does it have a shape,
A color or a temperature?
Don't judge your anger.
Don't try to change it.
Just observe it.
Breathe with it.
Stay with it.
Now let's begin a breathing sequence to support release.
On your next inhale,
Silently say,
I am breathing in calm and on your exhale,
I release this anger.
Again,
Inhale calm,
Exhale fire.
Inhale peace,
Exhale the heat.
Let the tension melt from your body.
Let the energy move out like red lava erupting from a volcano of smoke,
Turning into steam,
Dissolving into the air.
Each breath is clearing space inside you.
Each breath is softening what was once sharp and burning inside you.
If this feels right,
Speak gently to your anger.
Tell your anger,
It's okay to feel angry.
Thank you,
Anger,
For trying to protect me.
But I am safe now.
I'm allowed to feel and let go because I choose how I respond.
You're not abandoning your anger.
You are lovingly releasing what's no longer aligned.
Stay here for a few quiet moments.
Let yourself simply breathe.
No need to change anything.
Let whatever arises be welcome.
Notice if the sensation has changed.
Notice if the energy feels lighter or simply more spacious.
Now bring your awareness back into your heart space.
Breathe into it softly and ask yourself,
What energy would I like to anchor instead of anger?
Maybe it's clarity,
Peace,
Forgiveness,
Empowerment.
Maybe it's freedom.
Whatever it is,
Breathe it in.
Let that new energy begin to fill you.
Your chest,
Your throat,
Your belly.
Feel it moving through every cell,
Washing through your body.
And now slowly begin to bring yourself back.
Back into your body,
Back into the space you're in.
You can wiggle your fingers and your toes,
Roll your shoulders,
Your neck.
Any movement that feels good.
Listen and trust your body.
Take one more deep nourishing breath in and sigh it out.
Notice how you feel without judgment.
There is no right or wrong way to feel.
You simply are and that's enough.
When you're ready,
You can open your eyes softly.
Welcome back.
Thank yourself for showing up for yourself.
Thank yourself for being brave enough to feel and know that you can return to this practice anytime your body,
Mind or heart asks for it.
