Hello my beloveds,
Today we practice the 38th meditation in our Lent series.
Today's meditation is inspired by 1 Corinthians chapter 13.
To prepare our hearts and minds for meditation,
I invite you to close your eyes if it's safe and helpful to do so.
Relax your body and in a comfortable position you can remain in for a few minutes.
In other words,
Be still,
Adopt an attitude of gratitude and non-judgment,
And embrace a heart and mindset of peace and loving-kindness.
We live busy lives,
We live noisy lives,
Yet at our core,
This is contrary to our nature.
At our core,
We are human beings,
Not human doings.
Let us remember that we are human beings,
Not human doings.
Our identity is not in what we do,
But in what we are.
1 Corinthians 13 reminds us that we could accomplish the most amazing of feats,
And yet,
If we don't have love,
We have nothing.
Love is everything,
Love is everything,
And the best way to be more loving,
To be filled with love,
To be love,
Is to be with God.
So,
Let's take a few moments to simply be with God,
To be with love,
To simply be.
We are human beings,
Not human doings.
All the greatness we accomplish means nothing without love.
All we accomplish means nothing if we forget to simply be.
We are human beings,
Not human doings.
Let us be love.
Thank you,
My beloveds,
For sharing this space with me,
And today,
May you be grace and peace,
Light and love.
