Lent 37: Love Your Neighbour (Mark 12)

Day Thirty-Seven of Lent. This meditation is inspired by Mark 12.

During this meditation, and for the fifth & sixth weeks of this series we meditate upon the Great Essential: Love. Where does Love come from & how do we foster more Love in our lives?

Let this meditation take you deeper in communion with God & one another. And let this series be an edifying part of your Lent practice.

Hello my neighbors,

Welcome to the 37th day of Lent.

As we enter this meditation on the great essential,

Love,

I invite you to close your eyes.

Notice that with the simple act of closing your eyes,

Your mind naturally gets quieter,

Your body organically becomes more relaxed,

And your spirit automatically becomes more still.

Let's enter today's meditation with this very spirit of stillness.

Yeshua so often spoke in parables and answered questions with questions.

Yet,

When asked what the two main commandments are,

He is unmistakably clear and to the point.

Love Yahweh your God with all your heart,

Mind,

Soul,

And strength,

And love your neighbor as yourself.

There is no commandment greater than these.

And then,

When asked how best to love God,

Yeshua says that anything we do for our neighbor,

We do for God.

In other words,

The best way to love God is to love one another.

So,

It could be said that when asked what the two greatest commandments are,

Yeshua says,

Yeshua says,

Love your neighbor and love your neighbor.

Love God,

Love your neighbor,

Love God,

Your neighbor,

Love your neighbor,

And love your neighbor.
