Hello my friends.
Welcome to our Bible Meditations for Mental Health series.
Today's meditation is on personality disorders.
To begin,
I invite you to be still,
Which simply means to find a comfortable position in a space relatively free of distraction where you can quiet your mind.
Close your eyes if you feel safe and comfortable to do so.
Adopt an attitude of gratitude and non-judgment.
For today's meditation specifically,
It's particularly important to observe a posture of non-judgment toward oneself.
And embrace a heart and mindset of peace.
And lovingkindness.
Personality disorders involve deeply rooted patterns of thinking.
Feeling and relating that can make relationships difficult and self-image painful.
They can lead to emotional intensity,
Fear of abandonment,
Impulsivity,
Or disconnection from others.
Yet none of these patterns define the fullness of who we are in God.
Let's take a moment to explore who we are in God through scripture.
If anyone is in Christ,
The new creation has come,
The old has gone,
The new is here.
2 Corinthians chapter 5 verse 17 I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made.
Your works are wonderful.
" Psalm 139 verse 14.
Do not conform to the pattern of this world,
But be transformed by the renewing of your mind.
Romans chapter 12,
Verse 2.
These passages remind us that we are more than the patterns we struggle with.
Transformation is not instant.
It is a lifelong renewal of mind and spirit.
God's love defines us more than any diagnosis.
We are wonderfully made,
Continually renewed,
And deeply held.
In God's creative,
Restorative hands.
Adonai,
Renew my mind and reshape my heart each day.
Help me see myself as you see me.
Beloved.
Valued,
Wonderfully made.
Transform the patterns that harm me and strengthen the patterns that lead me into your peace.
Amen.
Thank you for sharing this space with me today my dear friends.
I look forward to guiding you again soon.
And until then,
May grace and peace be with you.
Light and love.
Be with you.
