Advent, Day Seven: Arise, Shine. (First Saturday of Advent.)

For this first week of Advent, we dwell upon Hope.

This particular meditation is inspired by Isaiah 60:1-3, ESV.

To begin this meditation, I invite you to light the Advent Candle of Hope, Be Still, Adopt an attitude of Gratitude & non-judgment, & embrace a Spirit of Hope.

Let us reflect on the particular truth that for so many of us,

Advent comes at the darkest time of the year.

Is this by mistake?

Is it a coincidence that hope comes when we need it most?

And for many of us,

This year itself has been particularly dark.

Arise,

Shine,

For your light has come.

And the glory of Yahweh has risen upon you.

For behold,

Darkness shall cover the earth,

And thick darkness the peoples.

But Yahweh will arise upon you.

And Yahweh's glory will be seen upon you.

And nations shall come to your light,

And kings to the brightness of your dawn.

Let us reflect on the hope brought by the light of Advent in an otherwise dark night of the soul.

In the depths of Sheol I cried,

And Yahweh heard my voice.

Shekinah,

The glory of Yahweh has risen upon you.

Shekinah will be seen in you.

Shekinah,

The glory of Yahweh has risen upon you.
