Come back home to the home of your body.
I know you may be longing for someone or something else,
A place of safety to greet the unmet ease,
To heal the yearning and searching,
Aching for something unknown,
To take away your pain,
To escape from this world.
In this lifetime,
We are searching to remember the feeling of love,
Who may have been fractured within the wounding of childhood,
It may have shattered within the abandonment of yourself,
It may have been lost within the discovery of yourself while looking through the lens of another.
Love doesn't live outside of you,
It lives within the home of your body,
In your heart,
In your breath,
In this moment.
When you can tap into it and feel it,
You'll never be without a home.
The love that you're searching for,
The emptiness you're longing to fill,
The stories you tell yourself,
All of these are your soul longing for you,
Longing for you to listen and feel.
Turn to face yourself and say,
I see you,
I am here,
I will never leave you,
I am home.
When the darkness of the moment threatens to take my peace away,
I will remember this moment and say to myself,
I am enough,
I am worthy,
I am valuable,
I am lovable.
These are the words my soul longs to hear.
The gift of assurance will always be mine,
The love I'm seeking to remember will always be mine.
I will remember to feel the sweetness of my breath stretching throughout my body.
When the pockets of grief sit within me and I long to escape the reality of the moment for the void of unsustained pleasure,
I will remember to come home to myself for nothing and no one can replace a refutable love within myself.
So when I long to turn towards another,
I instead choose to turn towards myself,
Knowing that home is not within silver-toned chameleons or glittering shining objects,
But in the warm and safe embrace of my heart.
I am home.
