It's a slightly more inquiry-based approach to shadow work, for anyone who processes best through a direct question rather than imagery. Find a position. Where you feel supported. Let your eyes close. Or soften your gaze. This is just noticing. Nothing more. Bring to mind a recent moment of irritation, Envy. Or an outsized reaction. Instead of watching it or naming it. Ask it a simple question. What are you protecting me from? Don't rush to answer. Just let the questions sit. Whatever comes. Even something small or unclear. Let it be enough for today. You don't need the full answer right now. The question itself. Is the practice. Let the image go. Let your attention return to the breath. To the room. When you're ready. Notice the room again. And when it feels right. Let your eyes open. You ask instead of assume. That's enough. For today.
