So welcome to this meditation about self-worth.
Which is really your key to personal performance and love.
So go ahead and find a position.
Where your body can be fully supported.
And then let it be held by whatever is beneath you.
Just letting go.
Making a deep sigh.
And just kind of finding yourself in the space.
So let your eyes close or your gaze soften downwards.
Hand before anything else just breathe once naturally and however it wants to come.
Notice without needing to change it.
If there is a familiar voice running somewhere in the background right now.
The voice that tallies up the day,
Or this week,
What got done.
What didn't?
Or where you fell short.
You don't have to argue with this voice,
Just notice that it's there,
The same way that you'd notice weather or a cloud moving across the sky.
Simply being present with what is.
Now gently bring your attention to your chest,
Right at the center.
Place one hand there,
If that's available to you.
And breathe in through the nose for a four count.
And then out through the mouth for six.
Make the breath slow and unhurried.
Now let's do one more like that.
In for 4,
2,
3,
4 and out for 6,
5,
4,
3,
2,
1.
Now feel the hand rise and fall.
Feel the actual physical effect of a body breathing.
Underneath all that tallying.
And here's what's true.
Whether or not that inner voice agrees,
This body has been here through every version of you that voice has judged.
It didn't leave,
And it's not leaving now.
Worth was never something you had to earn today.
It's not a score.
It's closer to gravity.
It's just here,
Whether you notice it or not.
So let the hand on your chest feel that,
Even if the mind isn't fully convinced yet.
The body can know things before the mind agrees to them.
Take a breath and let your shoulders drop.
Wherever they've been holding on.
Notice right now in this exact moment without anything to prove.
You are enough to be here.
Not because of what you did today.
Just because you're the one breathing this breath.
Let that settle,
Even for a few seconds.
When you're ready,
Let your breath return to its own natural rhythm.
Notice the room again.
The weight of your body against whatever is supporting it.
And when it feels right.
Gently let your eyes open.
The voice may still visit later,
It usually does.
But you now have a place in the actual body to come back to instead of arguing with it.
Enjoy your day.
