A Codependency Practice For Naming What's Yours
by Guy Ferdman
Codependency often shows up as a blurred line, where your emotional state depends on someone else's. This practice works on that line directly, using a simple differentiation exercise, naming a few things that are true about you, specifically, right now, that have nothing to do with anyone else's mood or needs. It's a small technique borrowed from work on enmeshment and boundaries, and it's surprisingly clarifying. A grounding meditation for codependency, attachment patterns, and remembering there's a version of you that exists independent of who you're taking care of.
