Start by finding a comfortable position,
Either sitting or lying down.
Gently close your eyes and begin to breathe deeply in through the nose and out through the mouth,
Breathing at your own pace.
With each inhale,
Allow your belly to fill with air,
The ribs to flare out and the upper chest to expand.
And with each exhale,
Allow your lungs to empty completely and see if you can let something go.
When you feel complete,
Allow your breath to return to its natural rhythm,
In and out through the nose.
Feel the muscles in your forehead soften,
Melt away any tension in your temples,
Your eyebrows,
The space behind your eyes.
Soften the cheeks and the jaw.
Take a deep breath in and on your exhale,
Let go of any tension in the shoulders.
Release any gripping in your hands and consciously relax each and every muscle in the belly.
And just notice that you are totally held by the ground beneath you.
And use this awareness to allow your body to relax 5% more.
Take a deep breath in through the nose,
Open your mouth,
Let out a sigh.
And now just notice that you're breathing.
Feel the subtle expansion of your body with each inhale and the gentle contraction with each exhale.
And now bring your awareness to your heart center,
That space right in the middle of your chest.
Just notice what's present,
Physical sensations,
Emotions.
Take a deep breath right into the heart,
Open your mouth and exhale,
Letting go completely.
Now in your mind's eye,
Imagine a doorway to your heart.
Really engage your imagination here and visualize what your unique doorway looks like.
And when you're ready,
Reach out and open that door.
Step through the gateway into your own heart.
This is your space to come home to yourself.
What do you see?
What do you feel?
Allow yourself to explore by journeying deeper into your heart.
Continue to go deeper until you find yourself in a magical sanctuary.
This is a space where you can take rest.
As you're relaxing and enjoying the sacred space,
You notice a beautiful,
Bright light in the distance.
And with each breath,
This light seems to be getting closer to you.
As the light comes closer and closer,
You recognize this energy.
And as the light comes clearer and clearer into view,
You realize this is your higher self,
That aspect of you which is eternal and connected to all that is.
As your higher self approaches,
You're flooded with this sense of unconditional love and acceptance.
This is an opportunity to ask your higher self anything that you desire.
Whether this exchange is one of words,
Energy,
Or emotion,
You are fully received with great love and compassion.
So I'll be quiet for a few moments,
And this is your time and space to connect with that aspect of you which is pure,
Divine light.

Wiggle your toes and your fingers and gently blink your eyes open.
