There's movement even in stillness.
This is an interesting thought that I've just come across.
We talk about meditation,
We talk about stillness,
We talk about making space and often the concepts of that are tied to the idea of stopping,
Of being,
And there's a certain perhaps conditioned level or understanding of what perhaps we perceive to be a necessity for stillness in order to access relaxation,
Nervous system reset,
Peace,
Calm,
Whatever it is that we're trying to source or connect with or reconnect with.
But what about the subtle movements?
What about the nuance of the body?
We can be still,
We can even be pausing between an inhale and an exhale,
But the movement never stops.
The molecules in the body are still moving.
The blood is still flowing through the veins.
The heart is still pumping.
The brain is still firing electrical current.
Everything's still moving even when we're sitting in stillness.
And so what would happen if in a practice of self-reflection,
Self-connection,
Meditation,
Rather than trying to force stillness,
Rather than trying to force a pause,
We pulled our attention away from that pressure and we began to sit with and bring gentle awareness to the ongoing pulsating energy of the body and the activity of being.
Even when we are in an expression of being,
We are still in a physical vessel and that physical vessel is still pumping and functioning and flowing and moving.
And even outside the physical form,
The energy of the subtle bodies,
The energetic bodies,
The energetic realms are still moving and pumping and flowing and expanding and contracting.
So I would love to invite you,
If it feels good,
To take a new kind of pause for a minute or two.
You can keep your eyes open or closed if you want to.
You can sit however you like,
Lay down.
It doesn't matter.
There's no right or wrong.
And rather than try and force stillness,
Rather than try and focus awareness on the breath,
What do you begin to notice within the physical form?
What sensations are there?
What feedback do you get?
What feeling do you have?
Do you feel something in the body pulsing?
Does your attention,
Your awareness,
Get drawn to a movement,
A twitch,
An electrical current?
What do you notice?
And in that noticing,
What becomes available?
What is the body trying to communicate with you through subtle signals that maybe we don't hear in everyday life because we're focused everywhere else?
And then when we do come into a practice of relaxation or self-connection,
We're often trying to slow the mind,
Quiet the thoughts,
Tune out,
Switch off.
But what if just for a minute or two now,
You sit with the body and feel the way it pulsates with energy,
With information,
With emotion,
With feedback?
This doesn't have to be an intense experience.
It can be gentle.
It is about connecting with the subtle messaging of the body.
But if it's been trying to tell us something for a little while,
It might scream a little bit louder and that's okay,
But it doesn't have to cause ongoing pain or discomfort or anything like that.
But just playing with that idea and the idea,
And however it presents to you intuitively,
That there is always movement in the stillness and that even when we seek that stillness,
There's still subtle movement going on in and around us as long as we have a physical form and potentially outside of our physical form too.
But just pondering,
Feeling into whatever your process is,
Both the feedback of the movement and what movement you notice and the feedback that your intuition,
Your inner guidance,
Your inner wisdom,
Your inner knowing has to gift you,
Give you,
Remind you,
Whisper at you,
Lovingly shout at you.
When you tune into the idea of or the concept of,
There is always movement in stillness.
Sit with it as long as you wish.
See what you find.
Please feel very welcome to share what you discover if you feel comfortable sharing.
I'd be really,
Really interested to know what your experience is of this.
I'm going to go keep playing with it myself.
I've had some significant physical discomfort the last two days of just the most frustrating,
Tense neck and shoulder pain.
It's quite agonizing actually and I know it will pass and it's okay and I'm working with it mentally,
Physically,
Energetically and it's all fine.
But I feel like this is the next piece of the puzzle,
This sense of moving from body to no body and it's not necessarily about moving from matter to non-matter.
It's about part of the process of us in the most loving ways,
De-identifying with the body and realizing that we are no body but that that's actually a beautiful thing because it brings us back to a recognition of a brilliant and remarkable origin essence or origin point.
I want to call it a reality of sorts.
So see where this takes you.
Feel welcome to follow your own threads,

Enjoy the ride,
Enjoy the experience and I'm sending so much love and gratitude to you.
