The following meditation allows you to work with the air element by connecting with the winds of the directions to bring balance and equilibrium into your life,

Receiving inspiration for your future endeavors and clearing away any possible fears or anxieties around your life stories.

Take some deep breaths and start to withdraw your senses,

Relax your body and let go of any tension,

Setting your intention to listen to and follow the guided visualization.

As you withdraw your senses and enter that special quiet space of deep reflection,

You find yourself climbing up a steep pathway at the side of a mountain.

The climb is not easy,

There are jagged boulders all in the way and you have to haul yourself over them.

Some parts of the path are very muddy and you must be careful not to get stuck walking with care on any stable bits.

It's an arduous climb,

Not an easy one as you've been on some of your walks and you wonder if you will ever get to your destination.

But despite the difficulties of the climb,

You carry on,

Putting one foot in front of the other,

Being patient,

Determined and persistent,

Knowing that once you arrive at your destination,

The views are going to be magnificent and the winds of each of the directions are going to support you on your forward path.

Eventually,

After what seems like an unbearably long time,

You arrive at the top of the mountain.

You are warm from the climb and despite being at a high altitude,

The temperatures are still moderate here.

The air,

However,

Feels clean,

Invigorating and so refreshing.

You take in some deep breaths once again and fill your lungs with this beautiful,

Sweet air.

The view is,

As promised,

Magnificent.

Despite the trials to arrive,

You understand why you made the journey.

The vista conjures up inspirational emotions and thoughts about future possibilities.

At the top,

You find not rock or snow,

But lush green grass.

You notice some mountain goats grazing nearby.

They look at you and then move further down the mountain away from you.

They don't see many humans up at these lofty heights and decide not to investigate further.

An eagle swoops overhead,

Making its recognisable call.

It evokes the awareness of being closer to spirit at these high altitudes and more readily able to hear the whispers that bring clarity and understanding.

You feel inspired to face the east direction and,

As you do,

The winds of the east come to greet you.

Listen to the winds of the easterly air currents bringing in movement and change.

The idea of something new coming,

A vision of renewal and rebirth.

See what the winds of the east have brought to share with you.

As the winds from this direction die down,

You sense a stronger,

Warmer wind coming in from the south.

This wind informs you of the creative expression you can enjoy in the future,

Reminding you that every sunset is followed by a sunrise,

And the freedom to experience joy,

Optimism and laughter.

This is particularly welcome if you have been through the death process which comes with an ending in any form.

Allow this positive,

Warm energy to inform you of the joys to come and remind you that you will have the vitality to realise all aspects of your new beginning.

The strong southerly winds die down,

And a gentle breeze engulfs you from the west.

As you stand here,

Enjoying the gentleness of this direction,

You clearly know the steps you must now take.

You do not feel any resistance,

But just a sense of freedom and flexibility,

Knowing you will follow the flow of the air currents and let them take you in the right direction.

A direction that will allow you to use all of your innate skills and gifts.

The gentle breeze dissipates,

And as you stand at the top of the mountain you feel a strong,

Forceful wind from the north.

It makes you rebalance yourself so your stance is solid and stable.

As you stand immersed and surrounded by this northerly wind,

You start to receive wise insights about what you need to do to manifest your intentions.

As quickly as it arrives,

The north wind disappears.

You are standing at the top of your mountain,

And as you stand there you are surrounded by a final gust.

It appears to come up from the earth and down from the heavens,

Within,

Without,

From the east,

The south,

The west and the north.

You are entirely surrounded by the winds of nature,

Giving you one final insight into your forward path.

As the winds die down,

You notice the sun is shining,

Any clouds have dispersed,

And the sky is a stunning blue.

You take some deep breaths of this pure,

Fresh air only found at such heights,

Then start to slowly make your descent once more into the still,

Dark space of your own mind.

As you return to ordinary reality,

Take some more deep breaths to centre yourself and become present.

You may wish to journal after this meditation.
