Welcome.
I'm so glad you are here.
My name is Sarah and I will be your guide today.
Take a moment to just arrive.
To feel the surface beneath you.
Feel the air in the room.
Let your eyes take in the shape and the light around you.
Before we begin.
Find a position that feels kind to your body right now.
Perhaps lying down.
Arms a little open,
Palms soft.
Or seated,
Spine supported,
Hands resting where they fall.
Ask yourself.
Is there any way I can be even a little bit more comfortable?
Perhaps a pillow under your knees.
A blanket around your shoulders or even warm socks.
Your body has carried the world lately.
Let this moment carry you.
This session is an imitation.
An invitation to step out of the relentless movement.
And the return to the quiet beneath it.
Together we will move through breath,
Stillness and body sensing.
Listening to the language that lives below words.
There is no goal here but to meet yourself.
Exactly as you are.
Let's begin.
Thank you for arriving.
You are here.
Something in you has shifted not just in your life.
But inside your body.
In the cells of you.
In the rhythm of you.
In who you are when you close your eyes.
You are new ground now.
Changed.
The way land changes after a flood.
Different banks.
Different depths.
In a slightly altered course.
Not less than before.
But richer.
And the roots,
Those deep unseen roots,
They help.
Let's take a breath together.
Inhale softly through your nose.
And let the exhale come softly.
Like the last light leaving the day.
And again.
Inhale.
.
.
The way new soil drinks rain.
And exhale.
Like a river finding its new course.
Feel the ground beneath you.
Sense the places where your body meets the earth.
Your sit bones your spine the soft backs of your arms.
Just take a moment and linger here.
You are held.
The Earth has always held mothers.
In all their forms.
In all their seasons.
She asks only one thing that you arrive.
Notice what softens.
As you let her hold you.
Now gently we will move inward.
Not to judge,
Not to analyze.
But the sense.
To feel what is true in your body today.
Bring your awareness to the crown of your head.
As if the softest breath of air is moving through you Heavy,
Light.
Buzzing or still.
Just notice the sensations that you find.
When you tune into your head.
Whatever is there,
It belongs.
Don't try to change it Just notice it.
Now slowly let your awareness drift down to your eyes.
These eyes that have been watching.
Witnessing.
Taking in a world that now holds a new life.
Let them just rest behind the lids.
And let them soften.
Slowly move your attention to your jaw.
And just noticed your jaw.
Is there holding there?
A tightness that perhaps has been quietly living in you just notice.
Breathe into it gently.
The way sunlight moves into the cracks of an old bark.
And with every exhale.
Perhaps you can let go even more.
Now move your attention to your throat.
The place of your voice.
Of words that perhaps haven't been spoken.
Of things that are hard to name.
And just be with your throat right now.
No words needed.
Let your awareness pour downward.
Like water moving through a landscape,
Pooling gently around your heart.
And stay there for a while.
Your heart.
This heart that has expanded beyond what you thought possible.
Sense into it.
Really feel it.
There may be tenderness here.
There may be a love so large it almost frightens you.
There may be grief sitting alongside that love.
Whatever it is,
All of it is part of the becoming.
A forest holds many seasons at once.
Decay and growth,
Shadow and light.
And so do you.
Stay here for a moment with your heart.
Your breath is your companion.
Let your breath carry you lower now,
To your chest,
To your ribs,
The places that expand and contract with every breath Your body is breathing.
Even when you forget.
Even when everything else demands your attention,
It breathes,
It persists,
It knows.
Now moving on to your belly.
Perhaps unfamiliar to you now?
Perhaps tender.
Perhaps carrying a quiet wonder at what it has done.
Perhaps there is no sensation at all.
Just let your awareness rest here.
No story needed.
Just sensations.
What do you notice?
Now moving on to your hips.
The remarkable hips that held and released,
That shifted and opened.
Can you feel them?
The weight of them.
The earthiness of them.
Let them be heavy.
Let them sing.
Now moving on with your awareness towards your thighs,
Your calves,
Your feet.
Your roots,
Sends down through the legs all the way to the soles of your feet.
You are here.
You are still here.
Still rooted.
Even when so much of you has been given outward.
This ground beneath you remains.
This body as a landscape now changed.
Changed the way a river changes after flooding.
New bangs,
New depths,
A slightly different course.
Not less than before.
But different.
And in many ways,
More.
Are you taking your whole body right now?
Where do you feel warmth right now?
Where do you feel tenderness?
Where in your body do you feel aliveness?
Perhaps a pulse,
A flutter.
A gentle A.
That is also somehow love.
If your mind begins to drift to the list,
To the sounds of the house,
To the weight of what's waiting.
Just notice that too,
Gently.
And slowly return to your breath.
Your breath is always here.
Always a way back.
And if something is rising in you an emotion,
A wave.
A sudden sting behind the eyes.
See if you can welcome it.
All of what you feel belongs.
The overwhelm,
The gratitude.
The grief.
The joy that is sometimes indistinguishable from grief.
This is not confusion.
This is Mattressense.
This is what it feels like to be a forest in the middle of becoming.
You are alive.
In this breath.
In this body.
In this enormous and quiet becoming.
Take a moment to simply be with all of it.
When you're ready.
Bring one hand to your heart and the other to your belly.
And let your own warmth find you.
These hands have held a new life.
And right now,
They are holding you.
May your next breath.
.
.
Be the softest one you've taken today.
When you're ready.
Gently let your eyes open.
Let them be soft.
As they return to the room.
Take a slow look around you.
Taking the shapes,
The light Whatever is there with you now.
And come back gently.
There is no rush.
You're still you.
And you're also on new ground.
Thank you for being here with me today.
This resonated.
