There is a popular quote by Carl Jung.
He said,
Unless you make the unconscious conscious.
It will drive your life and you will call it fate.
This inner child lives in the unconscious which is also commonly known as the subconscious today.
And let me demonstrate.
What this inner child is and how can we Heal.
The inner child.
Consider this to be our outer self.
Consider this to be our personality.
This is our adult reality.
Self which is a grown-up which has a certain personality.
But every adult.
Has An inner child inside.
In the subconscious.
This is the inner child which is inside.
The adult self.
Now,
How do we work with this inner child,
Which is like a personality in the subconscious?
How do we work with this?
And what is this inner child?
This inner child is that part of us that has been formed in our childhood,
As the name suggests.
But it still lives inside of us and it affects us in many ways.
It is our Child nature,
Maybe that was affected by the difficult experiences in the childhood.
Or maybe that part of us that wants to play,
That wants to enjoy life.
Or maybe that part of us that experiences sadness or fear or other emotions because those emotions were experienced in childhood.
And they still kind of stay within us and we are just kind of unaware of that.
So the question now arises that how do we work with the inner child?
There has to be a dialogue between the adult self and the inner child.
In our meditation,
We have this dialogue.
And we form a relationship.
Between this personality and the inner child.
And as this relationship is formed,
As this dialogue happens,
Healing happens.
What will happen is that this personality,
This adult self will start healing.
Things that you might be facing.
Sadness or fear or other emotions or things that affect you,
But you are not sure why they affect you.
They start healing as we heal this inner child.
But some other profound things can happen as this relationship is built.
You might become more playful.
Right,
You might become more creative.
You might become more artistic because this inner child also has a lot of strengths.
And then this leads to a kind of integration,
And as this inner child is integrated,
As they come together,
What becomes.
This of this togetherness is a certain wholeness.
So then this inner child is integrated.
And as an individual,
You become a whole individual,
You experience a state of wholeness,
As if a fragmented part of you has been integrated.
And you start experiencing more joy,
More presence,
You start experiencing more creativity,
More playfulness and the emotions that were troubling you and the things that were repressed,
They start healing.
And your life becomes better.
We become a more holistic individual.
We become more whole.
So,
This in short is Inner Child Healing.
Let's now experience this.
Through a short meditation practice.
I invite you to get into your meditation posture and just making sure that your back is straight,
But also relaxed.
And you can gradually allow the eyes to close.
And now bringing your awareness to your breath.
Just noticing the inflow.
And the outflow of the breath.
And now placing your awareness at the center of your forehead and feel as if you are breathing in and out through this point,
Which is also called the third eye chakra.
And now through your mind's eye visualize that You are at the entrance of a tunnel.
And you are entering a tunnel.
You can make this tunnel as big as you want.
And now you are walking through this tunnel.
And every step that you take in this tunnel.
You are going deeper and deeper into the subconscious.
And now you see light at the end of the tunnel.
And you exit the tunnel.
And now you have arrived back in time in your childhood.
Maybe you are back in your childhood home.
Notice the space around you.
Notice how this childhood home or place looks like.
Visualize all the details,
The rooms.
The colors,
The objects.
And notice how you feel in your childhood home.
And now right in front of you.
You see your child self.
Notice,
What age are you?
Notice what you are wearing.
Notice the body language of this child self.
The facial expressions.
And now it's time to.
.
.
Have an interaction with this.
Child self of yours.
First,
Maybe you can introduce yourself,
Say something.
Or express something to your child self.
So,
Take your time here to Talk to your child self to introduce yourself or express yourself.
And now.
Like the child self.
Express something to you.
Maybe this child wants to tell you something.
Or tell you how it is feeling.
Or maybe it simply wants to play with you.
Just allow that.
Interaction to happen naturally.
And let it express to you.
And now.
.
.
Allow yourself to give a warm loving embrace to this child self.
Only if you are a child self.
Feels like doing that.
Feels comfortable to do that.
If not,
Then you can Just maybe sit in silence with your child self.
But if yes,
Then allow yourself to give a warm loving embrace to your child self.
And as you are doing that,
Your child self is merging with you as if becoming one with you.
Gradually You can allow the vision to disappear.
And now gradually you can move your hands,
Your feet.
Become aware of your breath.
And slowly you can allow the eyes to open.
As we bring this meditation to its completion.
