The Heart Has Its Own Mind

Science has now started to realize the untapped potential of the Heart. New discoveries tell us that the Human Heart contains about 40,000 Sensory Neurites which are cells found in the brain. Have you ever felt that your heart is trying to tell you something?

Have you ever been in situations when your heart just knew what is right and what is wrong?

Have you sometimes felt that instead of the mind,

The heart is generating that voice inside of you which tells you to do certain things and avoid others?

If your answer to at least one of these questions is yes,

Then let me tell you that you are not alone.

It is something that almost everyone experiences.

It's just that modern science had highly underestimated the power of the heart up until a few decades ago.

My name is Saqib and I welcome you all to this short talk which comes directly from my heart.

The heart has its own mind.

It was discovered in 1991 by Dr.

J.

Andrew R.

Moore that the human heart has about 40,

000 specialized brain-like cells called sensory neurites.

These cells are concentrated in a specific area in the heart,

Which scientists have now started to call the little brain in the heart.

These sensory neurites think,

Learn and feel independently of the cells in our brain.

However,

They have the capability to communicate and harmonize with the cells in our brain.

This heart-brain connection is what is believed to be the source of intuition by the Institute of Heart Math,

California.

We live in a world where we are taught to use only our rational mind and discount the intuition or feelings that we get about a particular situation or person.

For example,

Many times it happens to us that we meet a stranger and within an instant we get a feeling or intuition that whether that person is likeable or not.

Scientists tell us that you will know within 3 seconds of meeting a stranger that whether you like that person or not.

There seems to be a strong relation between intuition and our connection with others,

Especially our loved ones.

It happens many a times to many of us that you are thinking about someone and at the very next instant you receive a call from them or you call someone and they say that I was just about to call you.

These events occur more frequently than their expected probability of occurrence and Carl Jung has even coined a word for such occurrences.

It's called synchronicity.

So what's happening here?

The Institute of Heart Math has confirmed that the heart of a human being has an electromagnetic energy field which is deeply connected to the electromagnetic energy field of other human beings.

This is the reason how our feelings,

Emotions and intuition are very strong when it comes to interpersonal relationships.

What's more,

It has been found that the electromagnetic energy field of a human heart is also deeply connected to the earth's magnetic field.

This means that our emotions are affected by the changes in the earth's magnetic field and vice versa.

What does this all mean?

What do we do about this little brain in the heart and about the energy field that connects our hearts to others?

In my opinion,

The first step would be to stop discounting this voice inside us that guides us.

Everything only from the rational mind has a lot of limitations.

When we rationally evaluate things,

The scope of our evaluation is limited to our knowledge.

Today,

A job opportunity or a business deal might rationally seem to be right,

But many a times it happens that we later realize that it was not right for us because we didn't know certain things at the time of making the decision.

Where this voice or intuition comes from is debatable.

Some believe that it's only the subconscious mind.

Others believe that it is the guidance of our soul or God or universal consciousness,

While there are others who discount this voice completely.

But one thing is for sure,

That intuition does play a very very important role in our lives.

It is one of the topmost skills that organizations look for in a leader for effective decision making.

It is the painting of a painter,

The music of a musician and the art of an artist.

It is what drives creativity in our world.

Many renowned scientists,

Artists and leaders like Nikola Tesla,

Leonardo da Vinci and Steve Jobs have relied on their intuition to produce great work that has transformed the world.

Most of them agree that intuition is the highest form of intelligence.

Therefore,

In my opinion,

This hard brain connection is something we should use to transform our lives and of others.

By letting this intuition to be the source of inspiration and decision making,

And by letting the rational mind plan out the execution of activities,

We can effectively make decisions in our life and execute on them.

After all,

It was none other than Albert Einstein who famously said that,

The intuitive mind is a sacred gift,

And the rational mind is a faithful servant.

We have created a society that honors the servant and has forgotten the gift.
