I welcome you to this Chakra Yoga Nidra practice.
There are three major elements to this practice.
The physical body,
The breath,
And the energy body.
First,
We will allow the physical body to relax.
Then using our breath,
We will relax our energy body.
The energy body is represented by the chakras.
So take your time here to get into your lying down posture.
A good posture to have is to lie down on your back and avoid rushing into closing your eyes.
Initially,
With your eyes open,
Just scan the space around you.
Even if it is dark,
Let your eyes move around the room.
Now,
Bring your awareness to a point in the line of your sight where your eyes rest naturally.
Just for a while,
Observe this point.
And now,
Very slowly,
Allow your eyes to close.
Now we will start with the body scan.
So first,
Bringing your awareness to the crown of your head,
And let your awareness relax your scalp.
And now,
Gradually,
Moving your awareness downward,
Placing your awareness on your forehead,
And relaxing your forehead,
Relaxing your temples,
Eyebrows,
Relaxing your eyes,
Nose,
Lips,
Cheeks,
Jaw,
Chin,
Mouth.
Relaxing your ears,
Relaxing your neck,
Shoulders,
Now moving your awareness towards your right side,
Your right arm,
And relaxing your biceps,
Triceps,
Elbow,
Forearm,
Wrist,
And now,
Your the palm of your right hand,
Thumb,
Index finger,
Middle finger,
Ring finger,
And pinky finger.
Now moving your awareness to your left side,
Your left arm,
Biceps,
Triceps,
Elbow,
Forearm,
Wrist,
Thumb,
Index finger,
Middle finger,
Ring finger,
Pinky finger,
And now,
Your left arm,
And the palm of your left hand.
And now,
Gradually,
Moving your awareness to your chest,
Relaxing your chest,
Belly,
Moving your awareness to the back,
And relaxing your back,
Relaxing your spine,
Gradually moving your awareness to your pelvis,
And relaxing your pelvis,
Genitals,
Hips,
And now moving your awareness down your right leg,
Thigh,
Knee,
Calves,
And feet,
Now moving your awareness down your left leg,
Thigh,
Calves,
And feet,
Totally surrendering your physical body to mother earth,
And now bringing your awareness to your breath,
And simply become aware of the inflow and the outflow of the breath.
You could place your awareness at your nostrils,
Or maybe let your awareness follow the breath,
Not trying to change the breath,
Just noticing,
And now gradually bringing your awareness to the base of your spine,
At the base of your spine,
There is a ball of energy,
This ball is red in color,
And this is your root chakra,
Feel the presence of this energy center,
And now breathe in and out through the root chakra,
As you breathe in,
Channel your breath to the base of the spine,
And with every breath you take through the root chakra,
Feel this energy center relaxing,
Continue to breathe in and out through the root chakra,
And now gradually moving your awareness to the point just below your belly button,
There is a ball of energy here,
That is orange in color,
Your sacral chakra,
Feel the presence of your sacral chakra,
And now breathe in and out through the sacral chakra,
With every breath feel it relaxing,
Continue breathing in and out through the sacral chakra,
And now gradually moving your awareness to the point just below your rib cage,
Your solar plexus chakra,
A ball of energy that is yellow in color,
Feel the presence of this chakra,
And now breathing in and out through the solar plexus chakra,
And with every breath feel it relaxing,
Continue breathing in and out through the solar plexus,
And now gradually moving your awareness to the center of your chest,
Your heart chakra,
A ball of energy that is green in color,
Breathing in and out through the heart chakra,
And with every breath feel it relaxing,
Continue breathing in and out through the heart chakra,
And now gradually moving your awareness to the throat chakra,
And the center of your neck,
A ball of energy that is blue in color,
Feel the presence of this chakra,
And breathe in and out through the throat chakra,
With every breath feel it relaxing,
Continue breathing in and out through the throat chakra,
And now gradually moving your awareness to the center of your forehead,
The third eye chakra,
A ball of energy that is indigo in color,
And now breathe in and out through the third eye chakra,
And as you do that,
Feel this chakra relaxing,
Continue breathing in and out through the third eye chakra,
And now moving your awareness to the top of your head,
To the crown chakra,
A ball of energy that is violet in color,
Feel the presence of this chakra,
And breathe in and out through the crown chakra,
With every breath,
Feel the crown chakra relaxing,
Continue breathing in and out through the crown chakra,
And now once again we will move back to the heart chakra,
And finally rest our awareness at the heart chakra,
As the heart chakra is the gateway to deep sleep,
So gradually bring your awareness back down to the heart chakra,
And now I will bring this guidance to its completion,
But the music will continue,
Let your awareness stay at the heart chakra,
From where you will enter the world of deep sleep.
