My name is Sangeet and today I am sharing with you something quite funny about quantity.
We human beings have the tendency to count and to translate things into numbers and volumes.
We even take conclusions out of that,
Depending on each one's experiences and mindsets.
No matter what we do,
Or don't do,
Or have,
Or don't have,
We count it.
How many friends,
Lovers,
Jobs,
Houses we have.
How many children we have,
Or how many children we want to have.
How much money we earn,
Or how much money we don't earn.
How pretty,
Ugly,
Tall,
Short our appearances are.
How many compliments we receive.
How many people like us,
How many people hate us.
How many subscribers and followers and likes and dislikes we have.
How many people approve or disapprove of us,
Agree or disagree with us.
How many times we eat,
How much we drink,
How much something costs,
And how many things are there for free.
How many books we read,
How much time we have or don't have.
How many times we count whatever happens,
And how much time we spend counting.
As if we needed to count to feel safe and secure,
Or to feel accomplished,
To be part of something,
Or just to be,
Because this is what we do.
We count.
We just count.
And we keep on counting.
We count until the end of this lifetime.
We count the years that we have lived,
The time that we have left,
The regrets,
The happy moments,
The failures,
The successes.
We count from the start up until the end.
We count.
That is what we do.
We count.
If we could pause and just for a moment not counting anything,
Would it be possible?
Would it be possible to stop counting and counting and just be in the moment without counting anything from the past and anything from the future?
Would we still be human beings if we didn't count?
Maybe.
Maybe not.
In any case,
And since we count so much,
We even count the amount of counting that we do,
Let's then count something of value.
Let's count the times that we smile,
The times that we express love and gratitude and appreciation.
Let's count the times that we spend doing what we love and the times that we inspire others to live their dreams.
Let's count the amount of times that we heal and that we reach our goals.
Let's count on us and on the universe to be the best version of ourselves by recognizing our magnitude,
Our potential.
Let's count the uncountable,
Our power,
And allow it to show us how much of that we actually have.
Let's be the powerful beings that we are,
Whether we keep counting or not,
Pushing ourselves and our lives to be truly fulfilled.
And one day,
When we look back,
There is nothing to count but the amount of happiness that we have grown in our hearts from the wonderful life that we have experienced.
