Here I speak about respect, and the reasons behind our possible tendency to tolerate, to feed and to perpetuate disrespect in ourselves and in our lives. I also describe the difference between respect and disrespect.

My name is Sangeet and today I am speaking about respect.

We all go through several experiences and we all build several mindsets and perspectives.

What may seem abnormal for some may seem normal for others.

How we see things is very much influenced by how reality presents itself to us.

If every day the sky shows itself as blue,

In our minds blue is going to be the only normal color for the sky,

Right?

It is the same with everything else and it is no different in what comes to respect.

If we grow up in a toxic environment of some level,

Surrounded by people who disrespect each other and who disrespect us as well,

Even though we may feel bad about it,

We may easily believe that this is how the world is,

That this is the normality and that this is all that we can experience.

And because we believe it,

We confirm it and we allow it.

We believe that this respect is normal,

So we naturally feel attracted to it,

Which only confirms our belief and we let it in because,

After all,

It is familiar to us.

Being disrespected is never normal or acceptable and only fear could possibly make us believe in such a distorted idea.

Being loved and appreciated is a natural right in everything and in all beings of this planet and it shouldn't be something that we had to claim or to fight for.

Being respected is not even something to be surprised with because it is our natural color.

Being respected is what is normal and everything else is what is not.

We all operate at our own level of consciousness and we all have space to grow and to evolve and to become better versions of ourselves if that is what we want.

There is no point in blaming ourselves or others for all the disrespect that happens in this world,

Whether it comes from us or from everybody else.

However,

Once we wake up from the big illusion of tolerating,

Allowing,

Perpetuating,

Or feeding any sort of physical,

Mental,

Or emotional abuse,

It is our responsibility to turn things around.

We deserve love and affection.

We deserve to be happy and to smile every day,

Not just once a month or once a year.

Every day,

All day,

Respect is required and it is essential.

It starts and it ends with us because by respecting ourselves we demand respect in everything else and we become fully respected beings.

And if we wonder what is the difference between respect and disrespect,

Here it is.

Everything that pressures our mind and squeezes our heart and pushes us to fit into anything else rather than who we truly are comes from fear and it is indeed disrespectful.

Everything that takes away our joy and innocence,

Whether we do it to ourselves,

To someone else,

Or someone else does it to us,

It is always disrespectful.

Wherever there is respect,

There is always a sense of safety,

Of easiness,

And a freedom to fully be who we are and to happily grow and create.

Wherever there is respect,

There is pure love and pure love doesn't judge,

Doesn't cage,

It allows.

Respect matches our nature and we can feel it in our heart.

So today,

Let's respect and be respected.

Let's filter ourselves and our reality,

Leaving aside what doesn't fit into who we truly are.

Let's finally breathe and put our guards down.

It is an everyday choice and if every day each of us choose love and respect,

Then the world has no other choice than to be a place of love and respect as well.

This was a very powerful message! Respect can also be like that of a smile. When I give a smile to others they will give a smile too. When I respect others, they will have respect for me. My smile is a signal of respect and that signal always brings respect from others whether they are a friend or a stranger. Thank you so much Sangeet! Love and respect and a bright smile to you always. 🙏❤️😊
