Hello,
I'm Samantha,
And welcome to 5 Minute Moments.
If you're listening whilst driving,
Continue driving exactly as you normally would.
Keeping your intention fully on the road.
The traffic and everything happening around you.
Perhaps you're on your way to work.
Heading towards an appointment.
Taking the children somewhere.
Meeting somebody or simply moving through an ordinary part of your day.
And as you continue on your journey,
Notice how much you already do naturally.
You take in what is happening around you.
You make small decisions.
You adjust when you need to.
You keep moving in the direction you have chosen.
There may be other cars travelling more quickly or people around you.
Some may turn off.
Some may join the road.
Some may be heading somewhere completely different.
And through all of that movement,
You continue to follow the road in front of you.
There is something useful in that.
Because life can become noisy.
Other people have opinions.
Other people make choices.
Other people move at their own pace.
And it is easy for your attention to be drawn towards what is happening around you.
And yet your attention is valuable.
And when you bring it back to your own day,
Your own choices,
And the direction you want to take,
Things often become clearer.
You begin to notice what is actually in front of you.
The conversation that matters.
The decision that needs your attention.
The small thing you have been meaning to begin.
The next step that is yours to take.
You do not need to work out the entire journey right now.
When you drive,
You respond to the part of the road you can see.
One pinned.
One junction.
One decision at a time.
And that is enough to keep you moving.
Perhaps there is something in your own life that deserves the same clear attention today.
Not everything all at once.
Just the next thing that matters.
Take a moment to bring it to mind.
It may be something practical.
Something personal.
A conversation.
A choice or a task.
Or simply the way you want to feel as you move through the rest of your day.
Hold that thought for a moment.
And ask yourself.
What is the next clear step?
Not the perfect step.
Not the step that somebody else would choose,
The next step for you.
You already make decisions every day.
You already adapt.
You already find your way through things you could not fully predict.
That ability is still there now.
So trust your judgment.
Give your attention to what matters.
And allow the next step to be enough.
Progress can arrive quietly.
It can begin with a thought becoming clearer.
A decision being made.
A conversation being started.
A moment when you stop circling something and begin moving with it.
And as you continue along the road,
Remember that your pace does not have to match everybody else's.
It needs to allow you to remain aware,
Make good decisions and keep moving in a direction that you have chosen.
There is a strength in that,
A quiet grounded kind of strength,
The kind that comes from knowing where your attention belongs.
So let the rest of the road unfold as it will.
Keep your eyes ahead,
Trust what you know,
Give your attention to the next thing that matters.
And when you arrive,
Take that clarity with you.
Into the room.
Into the conversation.
Into the decision.
Into the ordinary moments that make up your day.
And know how to respond to what is in front of you.
You know how to take the next step.
And today you can move forward calmly.
Clearly and competently.
In your lane.
Have a lovely day.
