Sometimes anxiety can arrive suddenly,
As though it fills the space of your mind or your body for a moment.
And when that happens,
It can feel overwhelming,
As though the feeling has become larger than new.
So for the next few minutes,
Allow this to be a small pause in your day.
A moment just for you to slow things down.
You do not need to change anything right now.
Just begin by noticing that you are here.
And perhaps gently becoming aware of your breathing.
Not trying to control it.
Just noticing the natural rhythm of your breath.
Because when we pause like this,
Even briefly,
We begin to create a little space between ourselves and the feeling.
And often anxiety shows itself somewhere in the body.
For some people,
It may appear in the chest.
For others,
It might sit in the stomach,
The throat,
Or perhaps the shoulders.
So just take a moment to notice where you sense it today.
There is no right or wrong answer here.
Just simple awareness.
And as you notice that sensation,
You might become curious about it.
If that feeling had a shape,
What shape might it be?
And if it had a color,
What color comes to mind?
There is no need to force anything.
Just allow your mind to notice whatever appears.
Because when we begin to observe a feeling like this,
Rather than pushing it away,
Something interesting often happens.
We realize that it is simply a sensation moving through the body.
It is not who you are.
It is just something passing through this moment.
And feelings in the body can move.
They are not fixed.
So now,
If it feels comfortable for you,
Just imagine gently guiding that shape,
That color,
Towards your dominant shoulder.
No rush.
Just allowing it to move slowly and naturally.
And from the shoulder,
Imagine it traveling gently down your arm,
Past the upper arm,
Towards the elbow,
And then continuing its slow movement down the forearm,
Towards the wrist.
And as it reaches your hand,
You might gently close your hand into a soft fist,
As though you are simply holding that feeling there for a moment.
And when you are ready,
Slowly begin to open your hand again,
Imagining that shape,
That color,
Being released.
Letting it drift away.
Perhaps down a stream,
Or carried away on the breeze,
Or simply dissolving into the distance.
Whatever image feels right for you.
And now just take a moment to notice your body again.
You may already feel a little lighter,
A little calmer.
Or perhaps simply more aware of the space within you.
And remember,
Feelings can move through the body.
They do not need to stay.

For now,
Just take one more gentle breath.
And allow yourself to continue with the rest of your day.
Calmly,
And at your own pace.
